TWO Great Afternoons! - We booked the SkyTrail High Ropes first for my 10 year old Grandson, Ben the leader that session was very attentive and with the safety gear the whole experience was well supervised and my Grandson had a fun afternoon. The following weekend we booked a session on Climbing Wall, Simmo was Henrys instructor and what a champ he was! He patiently gave advice and direction and was plainly an expert in his field! He instilled confidence and was such good fun. We would certainly recommend Simmo's tuition to anyone thinking of trying this pursuit!

Get Climbing - I can’t recommend Rock and Rapids climbing centre enough. Its very close to the north Devon link road meaning its easy to access, with ample parking, I would imagine it would be the perfect stop off when on your way to or as your leaving your North Devon holiday destination, as well as a fantastic facility for a morning out as well as for locals to enjoy. From the moment you walk in, there’s that buzz of eagerness to get on that wall. Whether complete beginners like us, or a advanced climber, the space somehow felt both exciting and welcoming rather than intimidating. The routes are well set out, offering a mix of technical climbing and just fun climbing. The walls themselves are much higher than expected, and the variety of steep overhangs and delicate faces means no two climbs felt the same, add to that the large boulder room and what more could you ask for . Our staff member for the morning was Karl, who was extremely knowledgeable and was always there ready with a tip or a shout of encouragement, meaning the kids progress felt very natural and but also lots of fun . Its a well-designed space with good facilities, and a great place to visit. It’s not just a place to climb it’s somewhere you would actually want to spend time, improve your climbing skills , and keep going back to.

Skilled and friendly staff, great facilities. - During our first visit for rope climbing, we discovered that Rock and Rapids also offer archery and indoor climbing, so we signed up for both, as my son had never tried either activity before. The booking process was quick and easy. Karla gave us lots of reassurance and took all of my requests into consideration. We loved every minute of it. Archery was taught extremely well, and my son left with a very good understanding of how to shoot arrows and how to collect them safely. Karla carefully monitored the posture of all attendees, occasionally offering corrections to help ensure the targets were hit. Indoor climbing was the highlight for my son. I really appreciated the encouraging atmosphere—no one felt under pressure to do anything they weren’t ready for. We are very grateful for this experience and will definitely be back again.

Climbing wall - Great experience, Karl was very helpful and supportive of both climbers, one who wanted to do absolutely everything and one who got scared, he was very patient and showed us another climbing room which both enjoyed, will definitely be back again

Fantastic, learning new skills and techniques, growing confidence and having more self belief - Absolutely fantastic time, the boys are 6&7 had a session with Karl, who was amazing, can’t wait to go back Thank you for making our weekend xx

Christmas Pressie experience - Had a great time sharing a climbing experience with my son and granddaughters, very relaxed atmosphere. Good instructor that adjusted the pace to the various members of the group. Instructor led climb and then separate session of independent bouldering after lunch.

Climbing and bouldering - Friendly and fun. Great staff and great coffee. We love visiting this place when we are down from the Midlands.

Great fun excellent instructor - Under the excellent guidance of Ben our instructor we were quickly kitted out and were each able to try 3 climbs, getting more dificult each time. Bens calm professional approach and excellent guidance meant every one had a go. Great coffee as well.

Well worth a visit - Excellent experience for my 13 year old grandson. The tuition was very professional and my grandson thoroughly enjoyed himself. He was so impressed he’s now signing up for the full course.

An OK visit - The climbing walls are fantastic ( bearing in mind have never seen that sort of thing close up ) The booking system was tedious. when we arrived the welcome was lukewarm. The instructor appeared knowlegable and was precise attaching harness etc. But gave the youngsters very little instruction , was very un inspiring in her approach ,luckily our 2 kids were confident to have a go and enjoyed it. But if they want to go again we would want a different instructor.
