Here, we explore the history of logging in the Smoky Mountains, the lifestyle of the initial Appalachian settlers, and the establishment of the national park. Continuing onward, we’ll traverse one of the most picturesque routes in the southeast, taking in the breath-taking mountain landscape. On the way, we’ll make pit stops at stunning vantage points for photo opportunities and to discuss the geography of the area. Ultimately, we’ll reach Newfound Gap, the 5,000 feet high division between Tennessee and North Carolina. Great experience in the park! - Gorgeous day, and Wes, our guide, was full of interesting stories about the history of the area! We loved getting out to hike around and explore at different stops. Even though it was a sunny April day, we saw snow and long icicles at the higher altitudes. Had great photo ops, especially standing on the border between Tennessee and North Carolina. Also saw some “Appalachian Magic” folks providing food and drinks for the trail hikers. Great experience! Thank you, Wes!

"Show us everything!" - My family likes to take guided tours when we visit new places. We appreciate having some context provided to what we are seeing or experiencing. We signed up for the "Classic" Tour...but little did we know that we'd up with a nearly "full day" experience! Our guide, Phil, was tailoring the tour to what we wanted to see (my husband said "Show us everything!"), and suggested other things we didn't know about too. We saw beautiful vistas, and watched the elk. He took great pictures of our family at scenic points. Part way through, while on the NC side of the park, the weather changed quickly and the NPS closed the roads heading back to TN, so Phil took us out through NC and all around the park back to TN - adding an extra 2 hours to the tour. If we were alone, we'd have no idea how to navigate this detour. It was certainly not the extra 20 minute detour that the park ranger said it would be. Phil was amazing through it all - sharing stories and pictures (we loved the pictures)...showing us everything and making the best of the situation. He was so engaging. We had snacks, water and a guide that knew the area well - it was a memorable day! We hope to come back and see more!

Great experience - Great guide. Took us to areas we would not have known to go to. Even though the clouds were low and covering some of the peaks, we enjoyed the tour.

A memorable ride in the Great Smokies! - Newfound Gap overlook, stories about history of geographic names and Cherokee Indian culture, elk encounters, etc. Driver Phil was personable, well versed in terrain and history of the park, and met the requests of all riders, except producing a bear sighting😊

Smoky Mountain with an Awesome Tour Guide - Our guide Courtney was passionate and friendly. Had an extensive knowledge of the animal and plant life which she shared with us. Definitely learned more about the Smoky Mountains than if we traveled alone. Excellent

Great Tour - Kindle was such a delight! My husband and I was the only 2 on the tour which made it like a private tour which made our experience even better. Kindle is very knowledgeable and took us places that we would not have driven on our own.

An outstanding 3-hour tour of the Smoky Mountains by a very knowledgeable guide. - An outstanding 3-hour tour of the Smoky Mountains by a very knowledgeable guide. Kindel, our guide for the morning, was just filled with energy and wanted us to love the Smoky mountains as much as she does. The van was very comfortable, and I was glad not to be driving the narrow windy mountain roads.
