The Garni Temple is the only surviving monument in Armenia that dates back to the pagan and Hellenistic period. - The Monastery of Geghard - Visit to Geghard. The monastery was founded in the 4th century at the site of a sacred spring originating in a cave. Hence, it was originally called Ayrivank, which means “cave monastery”. According to legend, the founder of the monastery was St. Gregory the Illuminator
- Tsakhkadzor - In Armenian, “Tsakhkadzor” translates to “Gorge of Flowers”. This name says a lot. A gorge implies mountains, snowy peaks, swift rivers, steep cliffs, picturesque valleys covered with a blanket of flowers. The beauty of this place is indescribable, and its air is known to be healing since the 5th century AD.
