Trips run 10am & 1pm Weather and Passenger Dependent - Min 8 - Max of 25 passengers!\n\nJoin the Ivanhoe team for what will undoubtedly be a memorable 2hr Big 5 Sea Safari.\nOur goal is to target Walker Bay’s Big 5, Whale, Dolphin, Seal, Penguin and Marine birds.\n\nWe depart from the harbor of Gansbaai and cruise along the scenic route passing\nthe cliffs of De Kelders and De Platt Beach. Observe the stunning coast line, contrasting white beach’s with the blue skies and chameleon waters that stretch for miles from Gansbaai to Hermanus, we then set course and head out into the middle of the bay in search of our Big 5.\n\nOn your journey our crew will educate you on all aspects of marine life, with a qualifying marine biologist and a skipper with over 15yrs experience there is a wealth of knowledge for you to tap. No trip is the same and we can never guarantee what you will see, we hope to spot our local Big 5, but there is also so much more marine mammal and bird life on offer.

Lovely trip at sea - Great trip today, excellent safety briefing (shame all the guests didn’t listen), advised from the outset we might only see birds & seals and we did. Unfortunately there was a technical glitch but the great crew kept everyone informed & got everyone back in safely. Highly recommend.

We had a whale-y good time! - Great! Saw more whales than I have ever seen on a tour. Including multiple breaches! 10 out of 10 world recommend.

Dolphins showing off - Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable , although a windy day boat was fine and comfortable, as on any tour to see wild mammals you never know if you would actually get to see any , the first 15 minutes all we saw was cormorants then we saw a whale briefly than another and another, so day was going well then two amazing sun fish (moon fish) then the highlight of the trip a pod of common dolphins almost touching the boat probably over a thousand dolphins racing around the boat and showing off their speed and gracefulness then some seals joined in on the party with a few penguins tagging along to see what was happening, all in all a very good experience

Memorable - Was quite interesting.A bit long for some people who showed signs of seasickness.Must be because of the strong winds.Sea life was a bit shy it seems..but with nature you are always at risk of not knowing what you will see .

Overpriced in my opinion - 2h trip to see seals and if you get lucky, more marine life
The employees don’t seem very motivated and seem to avoid interaction
Not really worth it - there are other places where you can get the same for less than half of the price

No Whales - Booked a trip with Ivanhoe for an afternoon tour. The trip kept getting put off and eventually settled for an early morning one that my 6 year old was not keen on but she loves whales. While boarding overheard a crew member say that they were out the day before which was ordinary after been cancelled on twice already! The tour was so disappointing as they spent the first 1.25hrs looking at seals and dolphins which were everywhere and then had no time to look for whales. No whales!!!!
