Amazing trip!! - My husband and I thoroughly our 5 hour boat cruise. It happened to be a beautiful, warm and sunny day. The recorded commentary on the boat was so beneficial as we toured past homes and islands. Boldt Castle is amazing, so much history. We definitely recommend this tour.

Beautiful Fall Day Touring the Thousand Islands - We had a beautiful fall day to enjoy the cruise. I have not been to the castle since the late 70s so it was nice to see all of the restorations. It is beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our day

A must see experience!! - It is hard to put this experience into words, the whole experience is something I would definitely recommend I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it definitely going to do it again. If there was anything negative about it, it’s not long enough I would’ve loved it to be longer. Thank You.

1000 Island Cruise and Boldt Castle Tour - For the cost this is a great trip. The boat ride through the 1000 islands was very nice with a preprogrammed narration of stories and some facts. Arriving at the castle, we were in a location that enabled us to exit the boat sooner than later, which was good as my only complaint is there needs to be a more efficient way of checking people through border security or maybe not fill the boat to its maximum capacity. This did not affect us at all, but we did witness some people just clearing security and we had already been on the grounds for almost an hour. I felt bad for them, they would have only had an hour to tour the castle and grounds and that’s not enough time to fully enjoy the experience. Now, as for the castle and grounds, it is stunning. We had a beautiful warm sunny day, we really enjoyed wandering and reading the information plaques. They also have a self guided tour option that you can listen to on your phone. If you’re Canadian this might be a challenge if you have your phone in airplane mode to not get charged for roaming in the US. The boat departed on time at 10am. Approximately 11:15am we were at the island. Return to the boat was 1:20pm Depart the island at 1:40pm Arrived at the dock in Gananoque approximately 2:45. There is beverages snacks, popcorn and hotdogs on the boat for purchase. There is washrooms located on the boat, at the docks and in the castle. And at the dock of the castle there is a little cafe to grab a bite to eat (just give yourself time for that). If you have mobility issues there is an elevator at the castle. But the hill to get into the castle is a little steep. Dress appropriately, good walking shoes and a sweater or jacket as the chill off the water and when the boat was in motion was chilly if you were outside. Our group all agreed we would recommend and even do this tour again sometime.

Breathtaking - The castle is something you won't forget! The grounds are beautiful and so is the castle. Took tons of pictures. The only negative thing about the 5 hour cruise is the time is takes to disembark and clear customs! Cuts into the time allowed to visit castle, we felt rushed to be able to see everything (which we didn't). Also I feel that there should be more information shared during the trip over about George Boldt. Video about George in the castle, but not enough time to see it.

Great experience. We... - Great experience. We enjoyed the freedom to walk through the building at a self pace to take it all in. I love how they stopped the renovations where Mr Boldt stopped actual construction

Fantastic Experience! - The 5-Hour cruise to Boldt Castle was fantastic. We went on Sunday September 3rd. We took the 10am to 3pm cruise. We arrived in the area with 45 min to spare I thought. Well so did tons of other people and we were all directed to a specific parking lot. We thought we would have acess to the big parking lot but no I guess they keep that one for the 3pm cruise. In any case the whole parking process took 15 minutes and cost $9CDN. We then made our way to the docks where they checked our passports and tickets. I had printed mine. They gave us paper bracelets and we were directed to a booth where they scanned our tickets. We waited in line. There must have been more than 100 people in line in front of us. The line started moving at 9:40 am and at 9:45 we secured the last spots on the top deck. The boat left at 10am and we arrived at 11:10 am at Boldt Castle. I was told by friends to go to the back of the boat at 11 to be first to exit to be able to go through US customs faster. At 11:15 we were cleared, passed by a cafe and washroom and walked a steep hill to the entrance of Boldt Castle. We had 2 hours and 15 minutes as the boat was going to leave at 1:30pm. We throughouly enjoyed every part of the castle inside and outside and took many pictures. We were back on the boat at 1:10 after a much needed bathroom break. We didn't buy anything on the grounds. Lines were too long. We bought a small bag of chips $3.10CDN and a diet Pepsi $3.76 CDNon the boat and with tax $7.75. We arrived back at 2:45pm. We were almost first to come out. We came down to the exit at 2:30pm. When we came out we just needed to have our passport opened to show to Canadian Border Patrol Officer. We were first to get out of the parking lot. Perfect. We would highly recommend this 5-Hour cruise.

Not bad but read for some tips! - We had a good time BUT the boat did not have enough seating for everyone, nor were there enough poles/rails to hold onto for those of us who did not have seating which really is a safety issue. On the positive side, food onboard was great and not overly priced. Audio was OK. Regarding US customs: if you have recently travelled to the US (within the last 6 months), you don't have to wait to to line up with the rest of the non-Canadian passport holders! Tip: before you approach Boldt Castle, go line up so that you're at the front of the line and you get through customs sooner rather than later! We did this and got to spend 1 entire extra hour roaming the castle grounds than other passengers did. Castle was very nice with very pretty grounds. Enjoyed this experience overall and glad we did it.

Just OK - We did have a wonderful time. I had been to Boldt Castle many years ago and it was so nice to see the beautiful progress that has occurred. Just a few things. First, the boat needs work. The window frames are very dirty and the paint on the metal ceiling grids is peeling everywhere and some of the grids are looking precarious, just waiting to fall on someone's head. The audio was just OK. At times it really didn't match up with what we were seeing and there were several times when it was just loud static...very irritating. I think we should have been warned that the queue to get off the boat took almost an hour. I know it is not in your control, but the American Customs seem to go over the top with their security, considering everyone who visits the island returns in a few hours to Canadian waters. It was daunting and honestly unnecessary in our opinion. With so few food options (the line up for food when returning to the boat was half way up the stairs, and the ONLY food option on the island was pretty dismal), I think food should be allowed on the boat, or there needs to be an upgrade. With ALL those boats arriving, to have one little kiosk with 4 people working was completely ridiculous. So overall, it was just OK. The work done on the castle is absolutely amazing, but the whole process was just kind of a let down.
