Awesome tours & tour guides! - We loved our tour with Wild Atlantic! We took the day trip from Galway to the Cliffs of Moher. Our tour guide Jerry was awesome—he was extremely well-versed on the history of the area and sent us on our way with a ton of cool facts (and a few jokes as well!). Beautiful misty day on the Irish coast. We had a train to catch afterward and were able to keep our bags under the bus, which was a plus. Definitely recommend doing a bus tour (or two!) during your time in Ireland—it’s a great way to see a lot of different places in one day!

Amazing trip to the Cliffs of Moher - I loved this tour with Wild Atlantic Way and Alan was our guide/driver. Alan is so funny, I loved his humor. He also provided a lot of information about the land and the history of Ireland. I learned so much from him. Just three of us on the bus were doing the cliff walk while the rest were doing a ferry to the Aran Islands then back to the Cliffs. I had more than enough time to walk from Doolin to the Visitors center at a nice slow pace on a beautiful sunny and warm day. I even got a chance to walk further along the cliffs and had a nice lunch at the Visitor center. We saw the unique landscape of the Burren on our way back to Galway.

Cliffs of Moher trail without a car - We are used to organise our trips ourselves and move by foot a lot, but as the public transport in Ireland is rather nonexistent, we had to choose organised trips for once. And this one was great! We took a bus from Galway alongside the coast through few villages and Burrens to Doolin. The views were amazing and the guide's information about history and culture of the area very interesting. In Doolin, we left the rest of the group (they paid for Arrans version of the trip) and went by foot from there to the Visitor Center on Mohers Cliffs along the cliffs. We had 5 hours for 8 km, so there was a plenty of time to get a coffee, enjoy educational material of the Center, and go further along the cliffs. If you spend less time in the Visitor Center, it's possible to get to the Moher Tower at Hag's Head and back in time. Then we left with a bus from the Visitor Center (the guide checked on us if we arrived alright) through Lindoosvarna and Burrens (where we missed a beautiful sightseeing because of heavy rain) and got back to Galway. Our guide was Alan and he was a great person for the job! The trail along the cliffs was somewhere between a muddy single stop to wider gravel path, not closer than 0.5 m to the edge and always bounded by fence of near pastures on one side. There was railing on cliff side only in some worst parts and around the Visitor Center. You cannot get lost, all the other ways are locked. But there were some kind of 0.5 - 1 m high gates (?) in the path which you had to overstep to get further. We had 30 km/h wind from the sea and it was unpleasant sometimes, but safe. I would be more careful with stronger rain although.

Helpful transport and commentary - This tour was pretty basic in that it was pretty much a drop to Doolin and pickup after 5 hours from the Cliffs of Moher visitor experience centre. This suited me just fine since I had opted for this so I could do the cliff walk. The coach was comfortable and prompt, and Alan was warm and helpful and provided colourful commentary. If you’re up to it, you can walk from Doolin to Liscannor and back to the visitor centre, with a lunch break at the visitor centre. The cliff walk is definitely stunning and less crowded away from the visitor centre.

The Explorers Hike the Cliffs - Amazing day thanks to our guide Alan! Loved hearing the history of the area & his great jokes. (Tell your son the dog joke was the best). There was no question he couldn’t answer & he made us all feel like old friends. We were safe in his hands & appreciated the clear instructions. Amazing hike to the Cliffs from Doolin. The Visitor Centre is fantastic & we had lots of time to do the 8 km hike then relax amongst the exhibits. Thanks so much! Hugs from the 4 Canadian Explorers.

Cliffs of Moher is amazing but wish I had driven myself! - Overall the experience was wonderful. The walk took us about 2 hours. Alan our bus driver was very funny and tried to accommodate all needs. The bus was dated and not hugely comfortable. It was also very cold. Totally my fault for not reading the itinerary well so I had no idea that we would get dropped off and walking 8km. Alan was so kind and tried hard to give us options. We were dropped in Doolin with not much to choose for food due to time. However Anthony’s outdoor cafe was thankfully wonderful!! The walk ended up being incredible. So so glad we chose that over going to the Aran islands by boat. (Lots of people reporting they got sick on the boat) But we had so much time between finishing the walk and waiting for the bus to depart. Unfortunately we were cold and wet as well with 2 hrs to wait. Tips: hat and rain gear is a must as well as dressing in layers. Check the weather!!!
