Additional Information

This awe-inspiring sightseeing adventure includes a two-hour sojourn at the celebrated Cliffs of Moher for exploration, photography, relaxation, and to appreciate all that this globally renowned location presents. Leaving from Galway, your local guide will drive you towards the famous western coastline’s travel path - the Wild Atlantic Way, passing by bustling harbours, functioning farms, medieval wreckage, 16th-century fortified dwellings and stone-made churches. Our first pit stop is the historically rich Dunguaire Castle. Further, we proceed towards the Burren’s glacio-karst topography, while crossing the Corcomroe Abbey from the 12th century. Adhering to the Wild Atlantic Way, we gradually sight the three Aran Islands. Next is Doolin Pier for a photograph opportunity and to experience the Atlantic breeze. Then we halt for lunch at Doolin Hotel to enjoy their tasty local sea food dishes. When we reach the Cliffs of Moher, take a leisurely walk along the cliff top to admire the striking vistas of the vast ocean and sky. Our journey concludes by returning to Galway through Lisdoonvarna, known for its yearly matchmaking festival.

Quick jaunt to the countryside - Our driver Jerry was very friendly and knew a lot about the city of Galway and the surrounding countryside. Make sure you stop by the chocolate factory in the Burren. Also don’t forget to bring a nice camera so that you can capture all the sights along the way.

A great tour with Gerry, the best tour guide/bus driver in Ireland! - We had a most wonderful tour because of our tour guide/bus driver Gerry! He gave us so much information along the 2 hour ride to the Cliffs of Moher, really explaining things along the way. He took great care of our whole group all along the way. He explained our options at the Aran Island of Inisheer for touring, pony guided covered wagon, different type of wagon, ride a bike or walk. He told us about the different place to eat. All good recommendations. He really became my hero before we left for the trip. The trip leaves at 9:00 am at the Kinlay Hostel. There’s no bathroom nearby to use before you leave. The worst thing is there’s no working toilet on the bus!!! Let that sink in. You’re going to be on the bus for 2 hours, each way, with no working toilet. At 8:45 I asked the general manager/representative from Wild Atlantic Way if there was a bathroom close by. He was very rude and brusque, and told me no. He also mentioned, very emphatically, that the bus was leaving at 9:00 sharp. There’s no bathroom available anywhere near the meeting place. I inquired about a toilet on the bus and was told no. Gerry overheard me and walked me most of the way to the Victoria Hotel. I told him I was worried about being left behind and my husband was on the bus. I told him what the WAW representative told me. Gerry nicely but firmly told me not to worry. He said he was the bus driver and he would not leave without me. I hurried and made onto the bus at 8:59. If the WAW representative had bothered to be half as kind and helpful as Gerry I’d have been back on the bus even sooner. He is a very poor representative of your company. Gerry, on the other hand, is wonderful! He is great. You should recognize him and honor in some way. A little kindness (and common sense go a long way. You must have toilets on your buses.

Pure Ireland! - The day trip with Fin McCools Tours was great. Thanks to the tour guide Ana, we learned a lot about the Irish landscape and life in Ireland. Thank you for that! Our bus driver Aoite drove us safely all day, sometimes on "hot" roads. We felt safe and well looked after at all times. The tour to the Cliffs of Moher, Burren & Galway City was very interesting and the scenery was very impressive. We would like to thank Ana and Aoite again and can only recommend the tour!

Beautiful, You Need to Go! - This was a great trip. Our driver, Chris, provided very interesting information and history as we drove through all the areas. There were a few different stops, on our way to the Cliffs of Moher, all of which we very picturesque. Our first step stop was at Dunguaire Castle. There was an admission charge here so given the time we opted not to enter the inside of the tower, but we were able to walk inside the ruins, and around and take sime lovely photos. We stopped to walk a bit in the Burren area, stopped for a bite to eat at A lovely place on the coastline as well, on our way to the highlight of the trip- The Cliffs of Moher! The weather kept changing from cloudy to drizzle to sun to light rain etc. Don't let the weather deter you. Would highly recommend this trip!

Alan was great - Our guide was Alan and very fun and informative. The boat part of the trip got canceled and they substituted with a cave adventure which I thought was a dud. Would recommend the caves.

Terrible customer service - Ireland Wild Escapes was a terrible experience. I booked the tour a week before our travel (I swear their booking system messed up because I had to do it several times) and they refused to refund me, credit me, or put me on a tour while we were there. I spent $331 and got ZERO in return. After contacting them multiple times, they were not understanding whatsoever. Do not book with them, rent a car and drive, it is way better
