Such a great experience, highly recommend - This was a wonderful tour and we learned so much! Dr. Sorrell is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about African American culture which was very refreshing! She went out of her way to make sure we had the best experience possible. Extremely grateful for that and would do it again because she has so much knowledge and presents it in a way in which you want to learn more.

Wonderful Tour Experience - Dr. Araminta Sorrell was our tour guide. She picked us up from the historic Colored Branch of Rosenberg Library/Central High School building. The tour van was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Dr. Sorrell is extremely knowledgeable in Galveston history particularly the events surrounding the 13th, 14th, and 15th US constitutional amendments. Dr. Sorrell drove us around the historic sites relevant to Juneteenth. She also clearly and accurately provided historical Galveston information that was Juneteenth related. Dr. Sorrell was very personable and relatable. She also followed up with us after the tour which was a nice added touch. We strongly recommend this tour for anyone who desires to know more about Galveston and Juneteenth.

Juneteenth tour - My husband chose this tour as our anniversary outing. We have lived in Texas 10 1/2 years now and we were not very familiar with any of the history. This tour was very educational. I absolutely enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone.

Must do in Galveston! - This was an informative and comprehensive tour that took us through time from the arrival of slaves in the Americas through modern day, all while connecting history to Galveston and its notable people, buildings, and happenings. Our tour guide encouraged critical thinking and participation. This was a great experience for me and my teenage son. Thank you!
