Highlights
  • Hacienda Coloma - In our Bogotá coffee tour experience, you will travel 1.5-hour from Bogotá going down the mountains to another state located 1,720 meters above sea level. At this altitude, the cold weather of Bogotá changes into a temperate and damp climate, which are optimal conditions for growing coffee. This coffee state is similar in architecture and traditions found at the Colombian coffee axis, where coffee plantations and production sites are still operating.

During your visit, you will tour the orchid gardens, learn about temperate weather vegetation and enter the heart of a dense coffee crop.
You can collect coffee beans with our own hands, and see both traditional, and industrial processes from the seed to the cup.
After, you will have the chance to taste a freshly brewed coffee, which is the result of the whole process you have experienced.

Once you finish, you will have a break and eat a great typical lunch before returning to Bogotá.

Very educational overview of coffee and also Columbia! - I had a day to do something different in Bogota before my friends arrived, so I arranged a solo trip to the coffee plantations. I was prepared for the 2 hour drive each way and bad traffic as described, the time went by very quickly because the wonderful guide Gigio gave a very extensive and detailed lecture on the history of Columbia, he has an encyclopedic brain and explains things very well in clear English. Viewing the city and countryside over the mountains was socially interesting and beautiful in the urban paths and green hills. The guide at Haciena Coloma was kind and took time to explain everything well, they are a smaller "boutique" company that cares for the coffee production themselves at every stage, so you can see clearly how coffee is grown and processed, I learned a lot! They have convinced me to go back to grinding beans and avoiding additives, so it is a life changing tour :). They have a nice shop with a chance to get and try coffee liquor and some craft gifts. I learned so much and had a nice typical "high calorie" common meal on the way back, learning about the traditional meals at a typical restaurant. The driver Andreas was very good and kept us safe, I can recommend this tour to anyone!

Experiencing the coffee of Colombia - The grounds of the Hacienda Coloma were spectacular. Our two young kids enjoyed the tour as well, picking the coffee beans, and holding a rooster.

Great experience - Nice day trip to get to know colombia better outside the city. We were picked up at the hotel on time by a nice driver. At the coffee farm the process was explained to us in an understandable way. Besides the coffee, the exotic plants are also very impressive. The included food on the way was also very good. Kind regards from Switzerland.

Expertise, excellence and huge enjoyment of embracing a new city. - 5/5! We had the most informative tour, with brilliant guide Raul Pøsse and organised by Rodrigo Atuesta. We covered parts of the city we would never have known about and talked about all things cultural, political with much humour along the way! Raul not only took us to the ‘tick box’ experiences but to the real Bogotá. It was a privelege to have met him and Impulse. I booked several tours with impulse in Cartagena after our brilliant experience in Bogotá. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Coloma coffee farm tour was awesome! - We had a great time at the Coloma coffee farm! The booking was easy and we were picked up at our hotel in Bogota. Our guide Paula was really great. She and the guide from Coloma showed us all of the different flowers and trees around the farm, which were beautiful, before showing us about the coffee making process and tasting coffee at the end. Would definitely recommend!

Coffee plantation tour at Coloma Farm - It was an awesome day going to Coloma Farm about 2 hours south of Bogota. The drive south was very interesting seeing the rest of the city and the scenery after getting out of the city was spectacular. The driver was awesome amongst the chaotic traffic in Bogota. The coffee plantation was awesome and the guy giving the tour Julien was very knowledgeable and informative. But the best part of this tour was the guide from Impulse Travel Andrea. She was super friendly, informative and just a lovely person. She really made the day. I would highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Andrea.

Great tour to Fusa! - We had a fabulous trip with this tour organised by Impulse travel. The communication and the booking was smooth and our trip was a great experience. Our guide, Andrea, was very knowledgeable, very sweet and made the trip very interesting. The visit to the Hacienda was fantastic and we learned a lot about coffee making its natural environment. We had only one full day in Bogotá but still we believe this tour was a great way to spend it! Totally recommendable!!!

Lovely Tour! Would have been better with English Speaking Driver/Guide - Overall, the tour was wonderful! We were picked on on time at our hotel by our driver. However, our driver did not speak English (and unfortunately, we don' speak too much Spanish). The drive was friendly, respectful and seemed very nice, but it was a 2.5 hour drive out (with traffic) so a total of 5 hours in a car without any additional information about Bogota, Colombia or the areas we were driving through or entertainment, which was a bit disappointing. We were the only ones on the bus so we were comfortable and felt like the driver drove safely. Also, we stopped for lunch after the tour which was delicious, but it wasn't until almost 6 hours after being picked up, so we were pretty hungry- recommend either bringing snacks or asking the driver to stop before the coffee farm tour for a snack! As far as the Hacienda Coloma- The Hacienda Coloma tour guide was great- pleasant and knowledgeable (and spoke English very well!) and took us around the garden and showed us the entire process of coffee from bean to cup. It was beautiful and great! However, we thought that we would be able to taste a few different coffee varieties during the tour itself and/or be offered additional opportunities to taste the liquor (they brought us to the barrels and had us smell them but did not let us taste them so it felt a bit teasing). At the end of the tour you are offered a cup of black coffee and a small taste of a liquor (but no option of milk or espresso). When we arrived they started our tour right away, but due to the long drive, we wish also there was an option of having a coffee and or a snack (even for purchase) prior to the tour. (FYI- There is no food served there at all, even for purchase so bring snacks). If we had had kids with us, the tour would have been ok for kids as well but def bring snacks/food/water for kids with you! So all in all a good tour, we would recommend! But it would have been better if the driver could have given us information or if the tour could have paired us up with someone else in the car that speaks English, it would have been great!

Great knowledge friendly people - Had a great time! Originally I was skeptical about the price of the trip but once you realize you are getting a private car it is well worth it! Once there you are greeted with friendly and knowledgeable people, the staff at Hacienda Coloma was amazing and they teach you not only how they process coffee but also why they do it that way! When setting up the tour as for Emilio, thank me later
