Good experience. - Very welcome, we had the chance to see dolphins and whales, which is not always the case. The pilot was effective in reaching the places where the animals were spotted, a guide came to explain to us through a book the species we had just observed. The boat was big enough for the group and the return to a cruising rhythm was ideal to rest after seeing what we had to see, great activity to do.

Sunny day for dolphins and whales - Beautiful sunny day. Had thought would be cold but very warm and able to catch some sun. Saw dolphins and pilot whales. The info had said only stops for a swim in summer, but did stop for exactly that! Sadly I had not brought my costume - so missed out. Didn't spoil the trip though. Just lovely.

Please for your sake, don t ever go with Sea Catmaran - I had one of the most appalling experiences of my life today with SeaBorn Catamaran in Funchal. I honestly feel this company should not be allowed to operate — for the safety and dignity of future passengers. Let’s start with the so-called “dolphin and whale watching” promise. You are taken far out to sea, where — if you’re lucky — you might catch a glimpse of dolphins or whales from a huge distance. I genuinely believe you’d have a better chance of seeing them from the shore. It felt like a tourist scam. But what was truly unacceptable was how the crew treated passengers who felt seasick. Many people got ill on the trip — far more than on any other boat I’ve ever taken. I’ve been on catamarans before and never felt sick — so either the conditions or the navigation were clearly inappropriate. When I got sick and went to the bathroom to throw up, one crew member looked at me with disgust and said — and I quote — “This is not the place to vomit!” Excuse me? Where exactly am I supposed to go when I’m in distress? Their solution: throw a trash bag at you and expect you to vomit in front of everyone. No privacy, no dignity, and no empathy whatsoever. How do they think it looks to other passengers to witness multiple people vomiting in plastic bags? It only makes others feel worse and more anxious. The total lack of humanity, compassion, or basic customer service was beyond shocking. I spent over 10 minutes alone in the bathroom feeling extremely sick — and not a single crew member came to check on me. What if I had fainted? But of course, they were too busy selling drinks to care. Speaking of which: they won’t even let you pay by card unless you spend €10 minimum — again, prioritizing their profit over passenger comfort. And while they’re well-stocked with alcohol, they had no seasickness pills on board. Thankfully, a kind passenger, not a crew member, shared some. It’s disgraceful that the crew didn’t even consider preparing for something so basic on a boat tour. This was not just a bad experience — it was traumatic, humiliating, and dangerous. I cleaned up after myself, despite being treated horribly. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. If you value your health, dignity, or basic human decency — do NOT book with SeaBorn Catamaran. I will be filing complaints with consumer protection agencies and review platforms. No one should be treated the way we were today. SeaBorn is a disgrace to tourism and to Madeira.
