- Funchal - Your private tour begins with the transfer from your accommodation in my UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions).\n\nGet ready to be amazed by panoramic views and explore the heart of nature, while learning all about Madeira’s traditions and history.\n\nYou will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari-style tour, going to places that you just have to see! \n\nWe`ll take you off the beaten track, whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, in really remote places, hidden valleys and villages lost in the mountains, therefore it takes some time to get to each point of interest. \n\nAlong our route we will stop at all the good photo opportunities, on an exciting open jeep ride, enjoying various experiences, awakening all your senses.\n\nAt the end of the tour you will want to return and stay longer on my paradise :)

Embark on the Western tour journey to the verdant northwest region, resplendent with gorges, valleys, woods, mountains, cascades and cattle! Always away from the common routes.
A day filled with varied adventures. Hike along Levada, take a dip, and be enthralled by breathtaking sceneries.
Prepare to be fascinated by all-encompassing vistas as you uncover the core of nature, simultaneously gaining knowledge about the customs and history of Madeira.
A top-notch vehicle for this, an UMM (an open typical ex-military Portuguese jeep - equipped with a cover as well for all types of weather), and creative approaches take you to must-visit locations.
So, team up with me and let’s explore leisurely, devoid of strain, no hurry… as companions, escaping the Commercial Tourist Spots and Crowds.
Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy a section of a levada walk for about 30/40 minutes (optional).
A 2-hour stop at Porto Moniz for lunch and a swim (Natural pools) is on the itinerary.

Jeep Capacity: 8 seats (Accommodates 7 Clients + Driver - Myself).
- Minimum age 3 years
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Please provide any specific food requirements when booking
- A vegetarian option is available; inform at the time of booking if necessary
- We will go up to 1500 meters high and to the north coast of the island, so it can be hot or cooler. Important to bring a jacket if necessary - dress appropriately
- We will stop 2 hours in Porto Moniz, where we will lunch & swim in the famous vulcanic swimming pools or simply explore the Village. Flexible
- Must bring a bathing suit and beach towel
- If the weather permits, we will walk in a section of a levada for about 30/40 minutes (optional).
- On the day, who are staying in Funchal, Garajau or Caniço, can change the tour to: SouthWest, NorthEast or SouthEast
- I have the BEST vehicle to explore the island, an UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions), and creativity to take you to places that you just have to see!

After parking your car (free parking), proceed to the front of the Hotel Pestana Gardens (near Pestana Bay), at Praia Formosa in Funchal.

Come and discover the real Madeira - Migurl is fantastic. Show us Madeira in a different way. It takes us into the depths of Madeira along incredible roads in an incredible and unique experience. Beautiful guide

Do not miss this jeep tour if in Madeira - Excellent experience and well worth the cost. Miguel took 4 of us to places we could not have driven to, he was knowledgeable and we finished the tour knowing and seeing more of Madeira than we could have done in a car.
10/10 and I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

Best of all the tours I’ve ever done, and I’ve done many! - What an amazing day! Miguel was quick to respond to all questions before we booked. Once we booked he kept in contact as the day approached. We were excited and had high hopes as a result of all the positive reviews but even with all our high hopes he exceeded expectations. I’ve been on many other private jeep tours as I’ve been coming to the island for many years. But our tour with Miguel was by far the best! We never felt rushed. There was so much attention to detail. His love of the island was apparent and contagious. We loved loved loved our day. So many wonderful experiences that will stay with us for a long time. Thank you Miguel. Amazing day.

Best for a reason - Incredible tour today with Miguel and another couple! 5* for the tour itself and 5* for Miguel.
Miguel is a great guide and really cares about showing you the best of the island, there were numerous times we saw convoys of other jeeps heading the opposite direction towards the main roads and tunnels, just as we were about to head up over the mountains through off-road sections and quiet winding roads with stunning views.
Over 200 reviews with nothing but 5 stars is incredibly rare but well deserved. Worth taking the lunch deal, to get the same without it would cost double.
Tip: get in touch with Miguel before you get here as he will be booked up far in advance.

An unforgettable experience! - An unique way to discover parts of the island which you would never do by yourself. Miguel is very friendly and knows the real hidden gems of the Island. We enjoyed it so much that we even booked another trip to discover some more of Madeira!

We were left speechless! - We were left speechless from our day with Miguel! His tour was not only the highlight of our trip, I can honestly say it was one of the most special experiences I have had in my life. We chose the north west tour. From the moment miguel picked us up in the morning, he felt like a close friend!The jeep tour was 4 people total, making it an intimate experience. His jeep is amazing! It has no roof so once we were off main roads, we were able to stand up. We actually passed by a few other jeep tour companies and saw lots of people cramped up into a small jeep, they watched in jealousy as the 4 of us were standing and able to smell the fruit in the air, feel the jungle with our hands, and sun on our skin! Miguel took us to unique remote places and throughly explained where we were and what interesting thing to look out for. The day was full of laughter and beauty. The weather forecast in Madeira is unpredictable but there is no bad day to go with Miguel! The moment we felt a light drizzle, he graciously asked if we wanted to cancel and when we said no, he took us through the fog in the jungle and drove us above the clouds to sunshine. He is dynamic and knows when to change the itinerary to maximize the day and enhance our experience. Miguel is the true spirit of madeira and is an unbelievable human being! Thank you miguel for a life changing day!

Explore the N W - Off the beaten track, away from full car parks, stunning views. Adrenaline rush on some of the off road. Very relaxed.
Would be good if there wasn’t an oily tow ball to be navigated.
