An excellent tour with a first class guide. - We were taken on our tour in a modern comfortable minivan. The driver spoke very good English and gave us lots of information about points of interest on our journey including historical facts. The tour took us up 3000 feet above the Nun’s Valley which gave us spectacular views. Then down into the village. We then went to Cabaras dos Lobos. A very enjoyable afternoon and good value.

An excellent tour - Our guide Luis Snr was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the locations, history and general useful information. He was a very safe driver, not easy to give running commentaries whilst negotiating mountain roads. The minibus was modern and very comfortable. Luis did everything he could to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Thanks again.

Great Tour - Excellent guide and tour. Very scenic and informative as well. We were travelling by cruise ship and were picked up near the port exit and taken back to the ship on our return.

Fab very interesting and entertaining - Great half day trip and very reasonable cost Louis our driver/guide was very informative and gave us loads of history about Madeira. Wasn't made to rush so had plenty of time for coffee/ice cream and shopping! I struggle with my knees but managed with the very small amount of walking involved.

Friendly commentary to Nuns Valley and viewpoints - Excellent email communication and response from outset. Collected from cruise ship at arranged time … accommodated our mobility scooter as discussed. Small group from several pick-ups and approx 4 hour round trip with time for photos, exploration, coffees etc. Terrific value. Very much enjoyed. Beautiful vistas in spite of a very rainy overcast day. We would use again. Obrigada!!

Great tour, great guide.... - Great tour, great guide. Nun's Valley is amazing for the views alone. A great way to see a slice of Madeira outside of Funchal for an afternoon.

Spectacular - Another great tour to the spectacular Nuns Valley unbelievable views down the valley make this trip a must, words can not describe the Vista prepare for a viewing wonderland I will say no more as you must see for yourself, the tour is not too long around five hours and well worth doing I fully recommend

Highly recommend - We had a great experience using Happy tours we decided to take a half day tour to the Nuns valley our guide was very knowledgeable with lots of information he also had a great sense of humour I would highly recommend this company.

The actual tour was good... - The actual tour was good …the views were wonderful but our guide/ driver was not very knowledgeable, he didn’t give us much information and was not able to answer questions

NO REFUND IF SHIP DOESN'T DOCK. AVOID - We booked to go on the Nuns Valley tour arriving by cruise ship on 14 November 2023. I booked just over a day out on the evening of 12 November for arrival on the 14th. As it turns out there was a scheduled port strike on the 14th November that prevented any cruise ships from docking. It's a pity I was unaware of this but apparently it was common knowledge. As an aside it was disappointing that the cruise line didn't advise passengers until 18:15 the night before arrival into Funchal. Upon learning about our port cancellation I emailed Madiera Happy Tours to request a refund (the shut off time for a refund was 18:00). I was hoping they would be compassionate in this circumstance. But no, a refund was denied. What I am upset about is surely since they knew we were on a cruise due to me stating it in the booking, and since the port strike would be knowledge for them in the tour industry why let us proceed to book? Very greedy and a money grab. I will know proceed to claim the amount on travel insurance but been warned do not use this company whatsoever if coming by cruise ship. Unlike other companies there is no compassion if your ship doesn't dock. They chose money over good customer relations.
