The journey of the Nuns Valley Tour commences from the reception zone, leading upwards to Picos dos Barcelos, pausing briefly to soak in the splendid view of Funchal. Followed by, we approach Eira do Serrado viewpoint to witness the amazing panoramic view of the Nun’s Valley from the mountain peak.
Advancing towards Nuns Valley, also known as Curral das Freiras, it is a quaint village housed in the basin of a towering valley, securely tucked between high mountain peaks that border it. Given Madeira’s volcanic topography, this area signifies the opening of the volcano crowned with stunning natural beauty. Initially reachable only by foot or donkey, Nuns’ Valley today has road connectivity, although the locality continues to preserve its secluded charm.
