Stunning vistas, beautiful flora & forests - Thoroughly enjoyable tour, despite traffic chaos on Pico Do Areeiro. Didn’t actually reach the summit of that mountain thanks to badly parked cars but our knowledgeable driver Bruno saved the day by expertly reversing our minibus to escape the jam. The rest of the tour was stress free & there were many scenic vistas to take in along with a good lunch (optional) in Santana. Beautiful island with so much to take in - recommended 👍

We had a fabby day - Fabulous day, Michael our driver/guide gave us a real insight into the area. The lunch provided was very good and the rum factory an eye opener.

Unique experience - The visit depends a lot on the company organizing it! We booked through Viator with lunch (good) in partnership with Madeira Seekers (transport) and had a very good visit with an amazing guide! Visit held in May / Festa Flor

A great must-do trip during a week on Madeira - Marco was an informative, personable guide, impressively fluent in French and English. He took us to many interesting places around the sides streets of Santana, as well as including all the main sites on our itinerary, and gave us plenty of time to appreciate each of the places we visited. We were lucky with the weather on Pico do Arieiro which helped. He gave lots of information along the way, answered all our personal questions and dealt caringly with an elderly member of the group with some mobility difficulties. We booked two different excursions with Lido Tours during our week on Madeira and will definitely use them again.

Mad about Madeira. - Van was a bit to high for my handicapped body, but all when well. Pretty landscape, banana beer, and nice group. Thank you for a great trip.

East not up to West - We’d been delighted with Tour of West last year so did not hesitate to sample East this year. An hour wasted as we waited for other minibus guests and a troll around pickups. First stop Pico do Areeiro. Absolute traffic carnage. Took 45 minutes to drive few feet on descent. It’s not an isolated issue so why not be flexible and go somewhere new? Our driver Roberto did not show any enthusiasm and his slow droll was mostly inaudible. He seemed to know a lot about tunnels but little more. I had to turn to Google for explanations. Not a patch on my previous experience with tour guide Marco.
