Our tour kicks off with a stunning panoramic view over Funchal and the Desertas Islands from Largo do Miranda. Next, we ascend to the peak of Pico do Arieiro at 1818 meters, offering splendid scenery and sweeping views across Ponta de São Lourenço, Paúl da Serra, Curral das Freiras, and even Porto Santo. We then proceed to Santo da Serra, where a thrilling open-roof off-road adventure awaits, ensconced in natural and foreign forests. As we return towards Madeira’s southern coastline, our route leads towards Santa Cruz, dotted with stunning vistas across local farmers’ terraced fields and striking viewpoints. Here, you’ll gain an insight into the Madeiran farmers’ traditional lifestyles, learning how they navigate the steep terrains to cultivate their crops. Wrapping up our tour, we’ll visit one of the island’s most iconic viewpoints, Cristo Rei, before our guests are returned to the harbor to begin their Catamaran journey.
- Free pick up in Funchal´s central area and Funchal´s Port.
- Jeep Tour starts at 9:00 am and finishes at 1:30 pm at Funchal´s Harbor
- Dolphin & Whale Watching Tour starts at 3:00 pm and finishes at 6:00 pm
- Vehicles will be disinfected before and after each activity

Two thumbs up - The weather wasn’t nice, however the trip was great! Gil is a super off-road driver, an easy-going and open person and a fantastic guide who shares his knowladge and shows you what Madeira has the best and most beautiful. Two thumbs up for this fantastic trip. Highly recomended!

The real Madeira - Gil was a wonderful guide on this jeep safari to the East of the island. He was an excellent driver over very tricky terrain and very informative about culture and plants. The weather was disappointing at first for the trip to the top of Pico do Arieiro but the sun peeped out to allow an amazing view. Stunning scenery rest of trip. A must do adventure when on a short holiday to this beautiful island.

Book this - you won’t be disappointed - An amazing tour with Gil. I am not sure what I expected although knew that we would be travelling in a 4x4 vehicle - on main roads, off road and down small narrow lanes this was a thrill not to be missed.
Gil looked after our group really well and gave us plenty of time at each stop with some ad-hoc stops along the way to view/taste some of the vegetation.

Terrible Weather for both 4x4 and whale/dolphin watching. - There were no views from the mountain top, due to the abismal weather. Very low cloud and lashing down with rain
The 4x4 guide, Ramero, made the best out of a bad weather day and took us to view points much lower down, where there wasn't cloud cover.
The whale/dolphin watching experience was unfortunately the same weather wise and we ended up soaked to the skin, due to the rain. Again the guides found the dolphins which helped, but you had to get wet to get any photos.
