Highlights

START OF THE ADVENTURE

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - RECEPTION AND WELCOME
It begins with a warm reception at the airport in Iquitos, followed by a transfer to the Bellavista Tourist Pier in Nanay. During the journey, you’ll receive a brief orientation about the city of Iquitos, highlighting the main tourist attractions of this vibrant and historic eastern Peruvian city. In the 19th century, Iquitos transformed from a small town into the most significant river port in the Amazon, gaining a surprising cosmopolitan status during the “Rubber Boom.”

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - PORT OF NANAY AND ITS ATTRACTIONS

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - ROAD TO LODGE
Next, we embark on a walk along the banks of the world’s largest river and one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, the Amazon River. The walk to the lodge will reveal a rich diversity of flora and fauna, offering a stunning panorama where the river’s grandeur meets the lush jungle. You’ll also see picturesque riverside villages, known for their vibrant colors and joyful atmosphere.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - ARRIVAL AT THE LODGE
Upon arrival at the lodge, our staff will greet you with a refreshing welcome drink made from local fruits. A brief explanation of the sustainability rules of the lodge and its surroundings will help you understand how to make your stay more enjoyable and participate in eco-tourism activities. You’ll then be shown to your accommodation, based on the type of room you selected.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - AREA RECOGNITION
Depending on the season, we will visit “New Peru,” home to the Yaguas ethnic community. Discovered by Francisco de Orellana during his first Amazon exploration in 1541, this visit will introduce you to their ancestral customs, traditional clothing made from palm fibers, and even give you a chance to test your aim with the “pucuna” (blowpipe) used for hunting. We will then return to the lodge for lunch.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - VISIT RESCUE CENTER
In the afternoon, we will visit the Wildlife Rescue Center (“Fundo Rony”) to observe and interact with various wild animals, such as the sloth bear (Bradypus Variegatus), monkeys, macaws, toucans, and boas. This visit will be an engaging way to learn to appreciate and respect the unique wildlife of the Amazon. Afterward, we will watch the beautiful sunset over the Amazon, weather permitting.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - NIGHT EXCURSION
Your guide will inform you when it’s time for the canoe or walking excursion to discover the mysterious world of nocturnal insects, cicadas, spiders, praying mantises, snakes, and more.

CONNECTION WITH NATURE

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - OBSERVATION OF THE AMAZON DAWN
Witness the Amazon sunrise in all its glory and soak in the positive energy of the Amazon.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - BIRD WATCHING
Early morning (05-06 hrs) is the ideal time to observe many bird species feeding along the banks of the Yanayacu River or in the nearby plantations. Your guide will inform you of the exact time for this activity.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - BREAKFAST AND FISHING
After breakfast, we will embark on an Artisan Fishing tour. The guide will demonstrate techniques for fishing piranhas or other species in the Yanayacu River using traditional materials. We will then return to the lodge for lunch.

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - SUNSET IN THE AMAZON
In the afternoon, we will head to the opposite side of the Amazon River for a boat excursion in search of pink and gray dolphins, which are central to Amazonian myths and legends. You can also take a dip in the majestic Amazon waters, believed by locals to rejuvenate you by up to 10 years, and use the Amazon mud as a natural exfoliant.

FLORA AND FAUNA CIRCUIT

Amazon Ayahuasca Tour Peru - FLORA AND FAUNA CIRCUIT
The FLORA AND FAUNA Circuit (Flooded Ecosystem “Kingdom of Giant Trees”) continues by boat or canoe along the Yanayacu River to explore this area rich in birdlife, including kingfishers, hawks, herons, and the prehistoric-looking Hoatzin or “Shansho” (Opisthocomus hoatzin). You may also see bromeliads (epiphytic plants) growing high in the trees. The giant flora, especially the “lupuna” (Ceiba pentandra) tree, which can exceed 50 meters in height, is sure to leave a lasting impression.
