• Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine - Fuji Sengen Shrine is a significant site in Japanese Shintoism, dedicated to the volcano god of Mount Fuji. There are approximately 1,300 Fuji Sengen Shrines throughout Japan, primarily in Shizuoka and Yamanashi Prefectures, with others in the Kanto region and Aichi Prefecture. Most Sengen Shrines are within view of Mount Fuji. If the mountain is obscured by distance or obstacles, a Fujizuka made from Mount Fuji rocks is erected in the shrine to represent it.

Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, located in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture, serves as the head shrine of the Sengen Shrine and the focal point of Mount Fuji worship. The main deity is Konohana no Sakuyahime (Asama Okami). According to legend, it was constructed by Sakanoue Tamuramaro under Emperor Heijo’s orders in 806 AD. The shrine was esteemed by many renowned samurai during the Middle Ages, including Minamoto no Yoritomo and Takeda Shingen.
