Highlights

It’s no secret that culture and knowledge are passed on from generation to generation. When it comes to Italian culture, it’s safe to say that what can be learned from our ancestors is truly extraordinary. Your hosts Paolo and Simone learned how to grow and make wine, how to make pasta from scratch, and of course how to prepare wonderful local delicacies from their Nonna. After introductions are made at Frascati railway station, your guide will lead the way on a short walk through historic Frascati, the very heart of the Roman countryside. You’ll get a glimpse of this characteristic town and it’s rich history dating back to Roman times. After a short walk, you’ll arrive at a beautiful wine cellar where your hosts will open the wines produced at the family vineyard, namely Frascati Superiore D.O.C.G. (don’t worry, you’ll learn what all those initials mean!) and Vagnolo. After tasting each wine with some traditional appetisers, the pasta making begins! Our chef will teach you how to make real homemade pasta, so be ready to get your hands dirty! Once you have mixed and rolled out your pasta you will be faced with a difficult choice, WHICH Roman style dish would you like to create? Choose from three typical recipes, Carbonara, Amatriciana, or Cacio e Pepe and let the chef guide you through the basics of preparation. The grand finale? Buon Appetito! Sit and enjoy your pasta while conversing with the other guests for as long as you like. After dinner you’ll have a chance to view the “caves” below the wine cellar.

Absolutely with it! - Absolutely fantastic experience! I am traveling solo (in Frascati but this is great for those in Rome too!) and this was the perfect way to spend time doing something fun with a group of fun people. I make pasta at home but definitely learned a lot of new tricks and had delicious wine and lots of laughs with this fantastic family. Don't even get me started on how delicious the carbonara turned out! Eating leftovers as I type this and still enjoying every second. THANK YOU!

Do not miss this experience!!! - This is perhaps one of the best experiences my family has had in Italy thus far. My children absolutely enjoyed making pasta with the guide of Nico. This is a family run business that incorporates and promotes local products and services. The egg we used in the pasta making was sourced locally and has a distinct richer yellow colouring yolk. For nutritionists and food enthusiasts, you know the benefits. Wine comes from the family vineyards and is an absolute treat. Overall, one of the best activities that is enjoyed by all.

Must do! - Couldn’t recommend this more! We did it the night before we left Rome, capping a three week trip across Europe and it was the perfect ending of our trip - honestly the highlight of it! We had such a lovely time learning about Frascati and the family winery, not to mention making pasta (with amazing sauce) and drinking great wine. 10/10!

Highly recommended small Italian town experience - A wonderful experience of wine tasting and pasta making in Frascati. After taking the regional train from Rome, we were met at the train station and guided on a short tour through the quaint town. Once arriving at their location, we tasted two white wines and then started the cooking class, making pasta. They provided three options of sauces, and served up our pasta for dinner. We were a group of 18 and everyone was friendly and sociable. Afterward, a bunch of us got together at a bar for another glass of wine and socializing before we left our new friends and took the last train back to Rome. I highly recommend this experience, also because adding a small Italian town to our itinerary of mostly large Italian cities created a nice balance.

Nice, friendly, professional and efficient. Missing the Italian soul a little. - This is a very professional and pleasant tour and pasta and wine experience. There is nothing to criticise although I thought it unusual that you don’t have the wine with your pasta but need to pay extra. Something just to keep in mind. We made pasta, saw the cellars, tasted the wine with some cheese/meat. The timing was spot on. We were informed while we were eating the train would leave then and in an hour. In all, it was a pleasant experience. It was very professional. Friendly but it lacked for me the Italian charm and warmth that the less professional and efficient setups have. In this regard, each to their own. If time is an issue, this kept exactly to the schedule and that may be an advantage to some people too.
