Additional Information
Embark on our exclusive Glacier Explorer flight that soars above the Franz Josef Glacier and through the Southern Alps, with an added bonus of a 10-minute snow stop for photo opportunities. The entire experience lasts roughly 25 minutes.
Remember to allocate an additional 45 minutes to your flight time for check-in formalities, transportation to the helicopter, boarding, deboarding, and the return to our premises.
Keep in mind that even though this flight is exclusive, the check-in process and van transportation may be shared with passengers of different flights.
It’s crucial that the combined weight of all passengers falls within the weight and balance limitations of the helicopter.
- Please let us know if you have limited mobility e.g. injury, arthritis or recent surgery? There are two high ladder style steps into the helicopter. This information could effect what helicopter we fly you in.
- Our helicopter seats are 40cm wide. If you would like extra space or are wider than this we highly recommend booking a comfort seat which guarantees an empty seat next to you.

Please check in at our office 30 minutes prior to your flight time. We recommend bringing sunglasses, a jacket, camera, and shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
Our only base operates from Franz Josef. Cancellations within 24hours due to customer booking the wrong location will not be refunded.

Must do adventure - Amazing trip! Fortunate to strike a clear day and score a front seat for what was my first helicopter flight. The view of the glacier and skimming over the mountain tops then the snow landing were all so memorable. Pilot & staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend,

Great and recommendable - The tour was real great.
We could feel the "family"-spirit of the whole team. We got a very good preflight instruction not to take too much "material" with us as the später in the machine is quiet small.
All in all: very recommendable!

Glaciers from a privileged perspective - We booked the 3 glaciers and snow landing tour for our first day of staying in Franz Josef, in anticipation that it could be postponed depending on the weather. That's right, the company notified us that same day first thing in the morning that they would not be able to make departures that day, so they gave us the option to postpone it to the next day (or cancel it and receive a full refund).
From the moment of check-in everything was well organized. We were able to really enjoy the flight, since we saw the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers very close, thanks to the pilot's efforts to offer us a privileged perspective. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to see another glacier or land in the snow, but the company promised to refund us the difference.

Incredible Helicopter experience to a stunning Glacier. - Visited Oct 2023.
Wow.
First off you check in at the office next to the blue ice cafe. You are then transported to the location of their own personal Helipads where you board and take off.
The views are amazing on the way to the Galcier.
Both our driver and our pilot were brilliant, with superb knowledge. Our driver even recommended stops on out onward journey to se some water falls.
Out on the Glacier it really is stunning. It resets your mind and really makes you think.
The pilot is happy to take photos of you and we didn't think the 25 min tour would be enough, but there is plenty of time.
On landing back at base, you are transported back to the office in Franz Josef.

Great to see the blue ice from above! - We were supposed to do this bit the weather made it impossible. That was a bit of a disappointment but it was great seeing the glaciers blue ice from above.
