The Long Journey Around and Through! - As soon as our driver/guide introduced himself, I was convinced we would have a great experience! Mario, Mario, Mario! That's all all the reviews I had read talked about. And here he was in the flesh! It was obvious he loved his job because it felt more like we were a carload of best friends out for a day trip. And what a day trip! Mario mentioned something like we would be driving about 350 kilometers today! And then he said, if you don't have big plans later let's do something fun!. Okay! The 6 of us were in! I can't begin to describe the incredible scenery we saw as soon as we left the city. Mario talked about the geological aspect of the countryside. He selected the routes that showed us views of waterfalls, rifts, incredible rock formations or just gorgeous pastorial landscapes. At one point we stopped at the top of the mountain and sat in a bistro type setting with a coffee to relax with as we looked at the stunning view. Mario didn't miss an opportunity to make a fabulous day even better. Before we started our trek back to Nice, we took a boat ride in the Gorge of Verdon. What a day! Mario gave us 12 hours of the best of everything. This outing was a not to be missed adventure and a terrific value for the modest price. Well done, Mario!

Great day to the Gorge - Great day with fantastic sites and well looked after by Gouda. The gorge and lake were stunning. Moustiers Sante-Marie was also worth the visit - beautiful village. Recommended trip if you have an extra day to fill.

Great views, great tour guide - The guide was very friendly and knew answers to any questions. We were notified ahead of time of any sights so we could take pictures. We also had plenty of time to roam around at every stop.

Highly Recommend - This was the highlight of my trip to Nice! Mario was wildly engaging and very informative throughout the entire trip. He catered the trip to the desires of the group. We got to take a boat at the Gorges du Verdon and take a dip too! So much fun. This was also my partner’s favorite part of our trip.

From information, being inviting, welcoming, informative and just making you feel so comfortable. Big highlight of our trip was being lucky enough to be paired with him for the tour. 100000/10 !

Beautiful views, disappointing tour - This tour offers beautiful views, but overall a mediocre tour. There were a total of 4 stops along the way, with the final destination being the lake. At the lake we spent ~1 hour total. Each of the other stops felt very rushed, with very little time to see much given the time constraint. If you are looking to see more views of the gorge, I would look into another tour or renting a car. Our guide, Gouda, was accommodating in the morning with our pickup time. At the very start of the tour he offered us a few facts about Nice, however that was the extent of his knowledge for the rest of the day. He was much more focused on driving, and all of us on the tour agreed he was uninterested in creating a welcoming/ fun environment. He was rushing us at each stop and very strict throughout the tour. He was also very rushed when driving on the way home, making for a very uncomfortable drive home that boarded on feeling unsafe. If you are sensitive to motion sickness, I would definitely bring some sort of motion sickness medication because most of the drive consists of tight turns and windy roads. The sights were beautiful, but the tour as a whole was disappointing.

Poor Tour Guide Expérience - Below average tour, money is better spent on renting a car and exploring the French Riviera on your own. Our tour guide Gouda spent close to no time explaining the history/facts about the area. I would say 10 minutes total on a 8-9hour tour. Extremely focused on time, giving us down to the minute time in each little rest stop. Strict rule of absolutely no food or drink in the car. Made us pour own freshly bought coffee. Please be advised this may not be the trip for you if you get easily car sick! Our tour guide, drove fast and jerky. We are in a three row, 9 person total bus so you feel each turn sharply. I am not someone who ever gets car sick but even I felt nauseous! It’s a very twisty road to begin with but he drives harshly and frequently beeps/yells at other drivers. There was no conversation facilitated in the tour, I am disappointed by how little we were told about the stops we were going! He is a very negative guy and not suited for such a customer facing role. The stops include: 10 minutes at a waterfall, a small town for maybe 30 mins, a lookout point of the Gorges du Verdon again for maybe 15 mins, larger town where we were given an hour to eat lunch (pack your own or buy food at the restaurants there), and then one hour on the lake. The tour is labeled as Gorges du Verdon tour but you spent only an hour total there! The water really is that turquoise blue and is unexpectedly warm! You don’t get to explore the true beauty and nature of it. You do have paddle boats or motor boats available for 20 or 40 euros/hour and can fit up to 4 people. So much of the tour is just being in a car. We then began the 2 and a half drive home. At the end of the day, our tour guide just wanted to be home by 5pm and I saw his role more as a driver than a guide. Again, if you can rent a car and drive stick, do that!

Car sick in Verdon - Bring motion sickness medication! Our driver drove like a lunatic and had people feeling ill. We stopped at waterfalls which were beautiful. The next stop was beautiful little town, where we had lunch. The guide let us eat and walk for ten minutes… we could have stayed for an hour. Instead he took us to the lake which should have only been ten minutes. Poor planning on his part. More time in the town and Less time on a crappy day my the water
