History and art all in one place! - I visited the museum on a birthday adventure with my friend. We loved stepping back in time to and learning about the origins of Fort Lauderdale. The museum is well kept and the staff is very friendly. Our docent, Dan, was knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. We loved the added bonus of visiting the artist cooperative on the 3rd floor! Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Take a Fun Look at Visiting the Museum - If you're planning a trip to Fort Lauderdale, I highly recommend a trip to the History of Fort Lauderdale Museum with Val and Kamil. The receptionist is welcoming and gives highlights that help visitors understand the value in learning about the area's past. Take the tour to hear an informed accounting of the area's past. The docent is well informed and his presentation is engaging and entertaining. You leave with a broader understanding and appreciation of those who paved the way to current opportunities for each of us to respect and enjoy. Please take advantage of this experience. You won't be sorry. Thank you, Val and Kamil

Usless receptionist = parking ticket - The parking sign clearly states ‘Free parking for staff and visitors’. Nowhere does it say a visitors permit is required. We received a ticket and when we questioned the receptionist she stated it wasn’t her job to ask if we had parked or to issue the permit (the permit is just a business card with ‘parking permit’ and a date written on). Absolute joke of a business, $55 out of pocket… miserable lady on the front desk too.
