Highlights
  • Rua Dr. Américo Jazelino Dias Costa 104 - Take a look at my instagram page for a sneak peek of past experiences @portocookingclass

We will meet in my home studio, in the city center (so you can easily fit me in your tight sightseeing schedule!) where we have lots of natural light and everything we need for messy and fun baking time!

I love to host and to have guests! I have been doing this all my life with friends and family.

To start our experience, we will talk a little bit about me and my family since this is a recipe that belongs to my grandmothers and we have been doing it for years, so you can understand the uniqueness and how lucky I was when growing up eating these amazing Pastéis.

This is a hands-on class, meaning we will bake everything from scratch as a group with my help! That of course is the most important part, we will create the most amazing Pastel de Nata because we will put lots of love, time and care into them. Everybody will help, we will take turns and I will give you a lot of fun facts regarding the story about them and who created them.

In the end, we will sit and feast on the natas!! :)

Don’t worry if you’re not the most skilled baker - everyone can do this, I promise!

Great Experience - We were welcomed by Joana in her home studio and some other lovely people joined. We had a brief visual history of Natas before all getting involved taking turns at various activities making them. The end result was delicious and the experience was great. We really enjoyed the morning, Joana is lovely, if you are visiting Porto, this is a must do!

No recipe... experience incomplete - The experience was good but incomplete. We did the class on a Thursday, and when we started, Joana said that she would not give us, at that moment, the recipe with the quantities of the ingredients, because she would like us to focus on how to do it, and would send us the recipe on Sunday, because she would have more time to write the recipe ... How is this possible? She has been teaching these classes for a few years, and hadn't sent the recipe to anyone who took the class? We waited until Sunday for the recipe, and nothing. I sent an email to Joana and got no response. That is, she lied that she would send the recipe. We were frustrated with this experience, we intended to take the classes it offers, but we will not.
