Tikal National Park - Upon arrival in Tikal, embark on a 4-hour hike covering around 6 km to explore the highlights of the magnificent City of Tikal. Walk along Mayan trails and roadways, and observe a variety of birds and animals up close.
The Tikal archaeological site boasts about 4,000 pre-Hispanic structures over an area of approximately 16 km², with only 15% restored and open for exploration. The entire Tikal area spans about 576 km², much of which remains uncleared, unmapped, and unexcavated.

Great Plaza - The Grand Plaza of Tikal serves as the ceremonial and political heart of the ancient Mayan city, surrounded by monumental structures like Temples I and II. This expansive, green space is crucial for understanding Tikal’s daily life. The Grand Plaza is a must-visit, and you can climb the surrounding temples, except for the Great Jaguar.

Tikal Temple III - Also known as the Temple of the High Priest, Tikal Temple III is a funeral-ceremonial temple constructed in 810 AD under the reign of Mayan king Chi’taam. It is believed to have been built to house the monarch’s remains, though they have not been discovered. Temple III is a pyramid standing 55 meters tall, making it one of Tikal’s highest temples, located near the Plaza Mayor.

Temple IV - Temple IV is one of Tikal’s tallest structures, reaching 70 meters, making it the tallest in Tikal. It was constructed around 741 AD by ruler Yikin Chan Kawiil. From its summit, you can view the entire city amidst the trees, and it has been featured in numerous films.

Lost World - Historical records suggest this square was organized as an astronomical complex, featuring a pyramid aligned with an easterly platform. These temples were used for stargazing, a method the Maya employed to track time using their astronomical techniques.

Tikal Temple V - This is one of the main pyramids at the Tikal archaeological site, located south of the Central Acropolis. It serves as the mortuary pyramid for an unidentified ruler of Tikal’s other great city. Standing 57 meters tall, it is the second tallest structure in Tikal, after Temple IV. Dated to 600 AD, it is an impressive structure, restored from 1996 to 2023.
