Highlights
  • Piazza Della Santissima Annunziata - Begin the tour following your guide through Piazza San Marco, making your way to the first stop on the itinerary, Piazza Santissima Annunziata, the first Renaissance piazza. Hear tales about the city’s merchant and noble families and how they shaped the city and the arts.

  • Palazzo Medici Riccardi - The prototype of the Renaissance palace, it was once home to the Medici bankers, including Lorenzo the Magnificent, who made a fortune and funded the flourishing of the arts in fifteenth-century Florence.

  • San Lorenzo - Then walk to Piazza San Lorenzo. Here is the first Renaissance church designed by Brunelleschi with the patronage of the Medici. Find out why its façade was never finished and how Michelangelo was considered an outlaw and fled from Florence.

  • Piazza degli Antinori - See the Renaissance Palace of one of the oldest wine-making families and the wine windows along the way.

  • Piazza del Duomo - Next, follow your guide to the Cathedral Square. See the Baptistery; learn about its legendary origins and see its beautiful doors. Admire the dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi and hear all about its construction and the history of the Duomo.

  • Via de’ Pucci - End the tour in the best way - with a glass of Chianti served from one of the historic wine windows of a Renaissance Florentine Palazzo. Savor delicious Tuscan samples like aged cheeses, Prosciutto, and Salamis (vegetarian and alcohol-free options available) and wine after the 2-hour walking tour.
