Highlights
- Geko Art Studio Florence - A unique opportunity to learn Italian art according to the traditional Florentine Renaissance method. You will spend a small part of your day in our atelier, where our highly specialized teachers will wait for you in the session you choose to carry out: 1) Leonardian drawing session, you will follow the traditional drawing process on paper using bleed, sepia or charcoal, reproducing one of the most famous sketches of the Tuscan genius; 2) Artistic and decorative relief, where you will create, in coordination with the teacher, a small relief depicting a face or geometric elements; 3) Sculpture, with the clay modeling technique, where you will create a small human figure or an anatomical detail; 4) Still life in painting, accompanied by one of our teachers you will create a small picture depicting a composition by studying its lights and shadows; 5) Painting en plein-air, through this option you can admire the hidden corners of the city of Florence and paint them on canvas.

Our creative studio has been providing classes, workshops, and amusement since 2018. Our artistic endeavors cater to all art enthusiasts, regardless of their skill level or age. We aim to propagate traditional methods in the modern world, inspiring visitors to rekindle their essence born in Florence, the birthplace of Renaissance art. Also, through these artistic encounters, we intend to present each participant a unique, educational journey that simultaneously stirs emotions, making their time in Florence unforgettable. In fact, all our activities allow learners to take home their crafted piece, given its lightweight material and small size, ensuring convenient and secure transport. All that’s remaining is for you to reserve your preferred artistic encounter, and we’ll handle everything else!

Unique Florence Experience - This is such a unique experience. A private art workshop in a working art studio. I am a complete novice, and the artist was kind and generous with his advice and support. And I have a true talking point souvenir to take home. Thank you for taking me into your home and your studio for the morning

Learning from local, contemporary masters - My 19-year-old son is an art student in NYC and really wanted to take a couple lessons locally while visiting Florence. We were lucky enough to find Octavio and Geko Studio to make this happen. He spent two 3-hour sessions with Octavio and another instructor (Diana) learning and drawing under their guidance. He loved the hours spent there and learning new ways of thinking about traditional anatomy-focused drawing. The studio is about a half-hour walk on the other side of the river in a quieter neighborhood which we all appreciated. He’s hoping to one day return to take a formal structured course. This experience was absolutely the highlight of his trip and made Florence a very special place for us all.

Michaelangelo and frescos - Wonderful! One-on-one art lesson with a professional. I love sketching anyway, so this was a fun add-on. The studio is lovely, and the area we used was perfect. She taught a specific method of sketching and transferring which was used in creating the frescoes of the renaissance. Awesome - and the results were amazing. I will repeat the method at home. The session lasted 3 hours - and time evaporated. We also enjoyed a delicious snack prepared by the owner. I brought my drawing home and will frame and hang when I get time. Great experience with attentive, knowledgeable, interesting people. Highly recommend.
