Wonderful Architectural Reminder of Vast Wealth - Pitti Palace is one of the must-see destinations in Florence!!! The architecture is amazingly beautiful and detailed with every square inch of ceilings and walls covered in fresco paintings and gilded details! We did not take a tour (decided to wander at our own pace) and enjoyed room after room of imagining how the vast wealth of the Medici's created such overwhelming opulence. We also added a "tour" of the Royal Apartments (not a tour at all, ticket simply gained access to these rooms at a specific time, and the "tour" was controlled by 3-4 guides who kept the group moving along to their pre-determined schedule which was exactly 30 minutes in total). We thoroughly enjoyed the visit to the Royal Apartments (restoration work was magnificent) but definitely dod NOT appreciate that the museum's guides restricted any talking except in subdued whispers (WHY?? Sound doesn't put furnishings or decor in harm's way! Just weird!) All in all, it was still time well spent.

Insanely beautiful! - Insanely beautiful! You can stay here all day to follow the entire history closely. Tip; read in advance! That really helps to make the experience even more beautiful than it already is in the magical place back in time! Recommended!

Unavoidable ! - Rather austere on the outside when you arrive, the facades facing the gardens, but fabulous on the inside! The ceilings are magnificent and richly decorated. The palace presents very interesting paintings and furniture, all in impeccable condition! Very nice visit!
