E-bike ride outside of Florence - This bike ride was amazing. John, the bike shop owner, made sure we were ready and comfortable. He prepared us with a presentation in the shop, made sure our bikes were set up perfectly, and went over the map that you must download before the ride. I can’t say enough how kind and professional he is. It had rained hard for 2 days prior to our ride. My husband and I weren’t even sure we were going to ride. We went to the shop and John gave us all our options. We came back a few hours later after the weather had cleared. John said not to rush our ride and he stayed open much later while he waited for everyone to come back to the shop. The ride was so beautiful. We stopped for lunch and had such a lovely time. It was quiet and scenic. The bikes will get you up all the hills. It was a challenge but you can do it. There was a part of the ride that was barricaded due to this storm. A group told John about it and he rode his bike up there to find us. He helped us lift our bikes over the barricade so that we could finish the ride. He stayed and helped other groups do the same. We have been on many bike tours in Europe and the shop owner can make or break the experience. We have never done a ride like this and John was the best. Don’t hesitate to do this ride!

Overall 10/10 experience Highlight of the holiday - Perspective: 30yo male solo traveller The route A short cycle North of the city through quiet roads and cycle paths, followed by some windy hilly roads with fast moving traffic. These roads however are clear and open and traffic is very mindful of cyclists. When arriving in Fiesole there is an excellent hilltop view and a fantastic coffee shop which sells extremely cheap and tasty pastries of every description. Following this the roads become almost void of traffic and start winding through picturesque hill settlements including olive and vineyards. There is so much to see and enjoy. There are fun hairpin looks, steep hills, downhill segments and areas opening up into spectacular views. After visiting the vineyard you the return journey includes a canal segment and the enjoyable hill climb up to Piazzale Michelangelo where you can stop for food or enjoy the live music in the early evening. The journey back through Florence is mostly cycle paths and not too difficult, even as a driver used to being on the left! The vineyard Just incredible! The host tells you about her farm and produce and offers some samples at extremely reasonable prices (4 good size samples of wine for 8 euro for example). You can walk around the vineyard and/or sit in the beautiful garden which has incredible views. I stayed for a good hour enjoying the wine and views. The service The app was easy to download and gives clear instructions on navigation. I had no problems and I am not a particularly confident cyclist, I'm not used to Italian roads and I was solo. There were a few times when I may have not been 100% sure, but the beauty of cycling is you can pull over onto the pavement so easily and navigate difficult areas via foot with convenience. John is fantastic. He gives a great induction, full of energy and passion. He makes sure you are all set on your bike and provides contact details should any problems arise. He puts you at ease and answers any questions for you. The bikes are something to behold. They make even the steepest of hill climbs ridiculously easy through amplifying your own pedal movements. With literally a light pressure application, you can zoom uphill, it's almost like being on a moped! But if you want to get more of a workout for example on the flats, you can change the amplification setting to just light support. They are extremely comfortable with broad gelatinous seats and thick treaded tyres and suspension settings. They come with panniers with 3 large compartments which can fit everything you'd need for a day trip and more. Difficulty scale I would consider this light exercise. There are no areas (unless you want to turn down the bike power settings) where I was remotely close to being out of breath and by the end of the roughly 40km cycle my legs were still fresh to enjoy activities the following day. My background is of only basic cardiovascular fitness - I cycle 20mins to work every now and then and can do a light jog for around 30mins. I am 30 years old, weight 60kg and have no medical conditions. I personally found the navigation simple and I have never driven on the right side of the road before and never been exposed to Italian road networks. I do however have experience cycling in a busy city for many years. I would recommend that when using the navigation app that you press the arrow on the bottom right so that your icon is kept in the middle of the screen as you navigate the course.

One of the highlights of our stay in Florence!!! - My stepdaughter and I absolutely loved this adventure. John was really nice, helpful and a funny guy. I was a little hesitant about riding a bike in the city but John assured me that the locals would be really nice to us and they were. We were only in the city for a little bit and then we took to the backcountry and that was absolutely beautiful views. The Vineyard visit was a very nice place to take a long break, have a snack and some wine. I've seen a few 4 star or less reviews where some of the people say they didn't know about the self-guided tour, using your own phone for the maps.me app and having to pay extra for the winery but it clearly states all of these things. John will provide you with a good bike (with a bike backpack for purchases along the way), a short orientation at the bike shop, the app to get the map and his detailed map with notes on turns, slowdown spots, cake and vineyard. Definitely bring a battery back-up.

A must do - This experience is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys breathtaking views of the rolling Tuscan hills and wine/apps from a family winery. John put together an incredible route. We started in the center of Florence, with e bikes and a GPS route to guide us. The map was easy to download and extremely descriptive/accurate. Being on our own allowed us to spend the day at our own pace, which was a great plus. We climbed through the backroads of Florence to the San Francesco monastery in Fiesole, which offered incredible views of Florence. John’s map recommended what became our favorite cafe. We then biked the winding roads for a couple hours (easy with a bike doing all the work), stopping for a break at a family run winery. We enjoyed some great homemade olive oil, mozzarella, salami, and prosciutto. Diana the cat was a surprise guest at our table for a while (heads up, she also loves the bread with olive oil). The winery owners were friendly and informative. After the winery, we biked about 40 minutes back to the shop. There was an option to bike to the Michelangelo Square, which offers different views of Florence Would definitely recommend adding this stop. 10/10 experience.

Highlight of trip - Highlight of our trip. Perfect sunny day, wildflowers blooming. Don’t skip the convent at the lookout point. A nice change from walking! Not for people who aren’t somewhat fit. We were a family of 8, all athletes. Kind of love that they weren’t worried about our abilities. Bellisima.

Unforgettable ♡ - This experience was an absolute gem! It was perfectly cultivated....you saw city, rivers, forest, vineyards, and so much more. The family owned winery was lovely and we of course shipped a case home for our friends. We easily completed the trip with brand new bikes in perfect condition which made the trip a breeze for moderate cyclists. (read the instructions ahead of time and review the map and you will be perfectly fine). My favorite experience in Italy so far♡ Thank you x100000

Great day out. - What a great day out! We turned up without a reservation on the off chance that there would be 2 bikes available. We were gutted to be told that as today was the last day of the season, the bikes were not charged. We left to go in search of another rental place but John discovered 2 bikes that were fully powered so came to catch us! Brilliant day out. Great quality bikes and amazing route. Fab pit stop at a vineyard and easy to follow route home. Thank you so much John. Enjoy your rest! Julia and Neil.

E-Bike Florence - What a wonderful experience in visiting Florence. The ebikes are easy to use and help you get up those hard hills. The route took us through a beautiful scenic route stopping for a vineyard visit. The staff there we're very helpful and nice. It was very busy in the city so you need to be biking and watching your map very carefully. Please make sure your phone is charged fully because the tour takes a good 6 hours. There is no parking hardly by the tour office just fyi. Thanks again!
