Must see - This is a must. Gardens lovely and views stunning. Took us 3 hours to walk around leisurely. Its quite slopy and hilly though with lots of steps so not for the elderly. Take a nice picnic. Here are my favourite pictures.

Beautiful gardens & amazing view over Florence - Combined a trip to Boboli Gardens & Pitti Palace. Whilst the Palace was lovely with numerous collections the Gardens were beautiful with fountains, numerous pathways for all abilities. The bonus was on the day we chose to visit it was free.

Amazing - Went after a tour of the palace and these gardens are just amazing. Spent a good 3 hours walking around and sat in a nice shady spot to have a welcome rest. Neptune fountain in the middle of the uphill bit and an absolute hidden gem. Highly recommend a visit to anyone looking to see Florence and it’s beauty.

A beautiful and memorable experience - This was utterly, utterly beautiful experience. We are so glad that we visited. The gardens are beautiful, the views are spectacular and the grottos are magical. Our enchanting guide Alessandra was a brilliant guide, so knowledgable and funny making all of the information accessible and entertaining. She really made this experience a fantastic one, thank you Alessandra!

Entrances closed - I was very excited for this, and the gardens are probably as great as I read, but very hard to get to. The only open entrance is from Pitti Palace, a fact not reflected in my tickitaly tickets, or Google maps, or mentioned by any staff when I checked in at Ufitzi for the start of my combo skip the line ticket. There was a steam of people walking up the very long hill to the entrance indicated by Google maps, and no sign until the closed entrance gate. Then a very long walk back down and another long walk up the hill on the other side to the Pitti Palace side. By the time I had done that, and walked up and down 3 lo g flights within Pitti Palace, I was just too worn out for another hike up and down the main hill in the gardens. Everywhere, Ufitzi, Boboli, and Pitti, there was missing signage. Confirm all directions before you go.

Be aware of opening days - Went to visit the gardens on the last Monday of February. Sadly got there and found out that the gardens are closes first and last Monday of the month which wasn’t on their website. In fact, there was a stream of disappointed tourists with the same experience. We went back the next day, the gardens are beautiful, it’s a pity they don’t have accurate information on their site.

Not worth it - My partner and I booked to visit on Easter Sunday at teatime. Unbeknown to us, we didn’t have to book - albeit it did mean we got to skip the Q. Had we know. We would have gone earlier on the day. The gardens were a let down. There are some glass house but you can’t go in!!! They are full of pots and all you can do is stand at the door and look in. Whoopee doo. There are several areas taped off which as well as irritating, is unsightly. Didn’t see any ‘manicured’ gardens. Coffee shop no where to be found. And the toilets were disgusting and a health hazard. Where’s the logic is face masks being mandatory then having no soap or toilet paper available? My partner said the male loos were awful, no loo paper either, dirty paper towels in the cubicles and faeces all over the toilets. The whole place was a let down.

No information about the public section - Very difficult to find information about it. Some gates seem to be open to the public without visiting the Pitti Palace, and had opening times on them, but were still closed. A shame, since it seemed to be a beautiful garden.

Dreadful - The woman in the ticket office was the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to come across. Inside I was expecting to have the opportunity to sit down - especially on a scorching hot day - but there was nowhere. Landscaping wasn’t that great. It does offer a good view of the cathedral dome but not worth the time or the money.
