These gardens designed by Tribolo where built in the 16th century for Cosimo I de’ Medici to adorn the exclusive Pitti Palace. Behind Palazzo Pitti lies the Boboli Garden. A priority entrance ticket ensures swift entry, bypassing long queues to access this garden that is a core part of the palace. It was initiated in 1549 by Tribolo for Duchess Eleonora di Toledo, wife of Cosimo I de ‘Medici, and served to beautify the regal palace it accompanies, contributing to the court life atmosphere. This monument was a model for numerous other European courts. This sprawling green sanctuary, located at Florence’s core, is essentially an outdoor museum. It contains a collection of ancient and Renaissance statues, embellished with grottos, highlighting that of Bernardo Buontalenti, and grand fountains like Neptune and Ocean. Its boundaries have extended over time with dynasties of Lorraine and Savoys, now stretching along the old city walls to Porta Romana. Boboli Garden a wonderful site to see - Easy process to book thru Viator. Also made it easy to change time when we ran late.
The walk thru Boboli Garden was very nice, there is some wonderful statues in the garden and the view of Firenze was breathtaking. The garden has many hills and one should be cautious with the walk.

Beautiful! Skip the Guide and Do The Walking Tour - I found it to be fascinating because it is so rich in history. The sculptures and gardens are magnificent. I advise not paying the price for the one-hour guided tour. Instead, opt for a walking tour with headsets that educate you about the gardens.

Disappointed - Disappointed. Went in Sept. Nothing in bloom. Very few sculptures. Very steep steps and paths hinder accessibility. Very poor signage. Had to ask a groundsman for direction to exit.

Inconvenient tour. - The tour was not well coordinated . It was very inconvenient to us. This should not happen again . Why do we have to pick up tickets which is far away from the venue?

Bad overall - Ticket redemption spot is more than 15 min walk from gardens. We had someone with us that could not go. Tried to call and could not get anyone to pick up. Requested refund and would not provide

Not worth the physical effort. - More flowers in my back yard than in this garden. The picture of the fountain and statue is all there is to see. It is built on a mountainside with a lot of climbing and effort. But the scenery is not worth the effort. Bypass this one.

Saddest experience with Viator ever. - We found that the steep uphill climb to the gardens was too much for us to undertake. We should have been warned of this situation before we purchased tickets. It was a total waste of $50.00+ since we couldn’t make the climb. To say this was disappointing is an understatement. Our money should be refunded.
