Highlights
  • Rovaniemi - This is not a typical tour of Lapland as we are not a typical tour company. We strive to give you an authentic experience that you can’t get anywhere else. As we open our home to you we invite you to discover the true colors of Finland.

Our home is located on a private land, 22km away from the lovely town of Rovaniemi. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes and postcard-perfect scenery on the lake shore, our home is a truly unique place. The tour starts with hotel pickup. We usually drive a minivan as we specialize in small group tours only, to ensure a private experience. Once we arrive at the destination we will start with the authentic wood-burning sauna. When we say authentic - we really mean it! Our sauna dates back to the times when it was used as a smoke sauna. You can still smell the smoke! However, nowadays we heat up the stones in a wood fire.

After the sauna and swimming in the icy water, it’s time for snacks. We will gather around the fireplace and enjoy refreshing snacks before we pack up and hit the road to drop you off at your hotel.

Additional Information

Once the sauna has heated up, it’s your moment to relax. Soak up the sounds of the blaze popping in the wood-fired stove, as warmth slowly emanates from the rocks. The sauna is a sanctuary of liberty where you can release tension and bask in the therapeutic power of heat. Our facilitator will show you how to cool down securely as you plunge into the frosty waters of our secluded lake! That’s right, we engage in Arctic lake swimming post-sauna. During the winter, you can also dive into the snow! Once you’ve cooled off, it’s time to return to the sauna. This cycle continues until you feel completely rejuvenated. Alternating between hot and cold in the sauna bolsters your immune system and is incredibly satisfying for the soul.

  • Children younger then 10 y.o. are not accepted on the tour!

Outstanding Experience - This was our second time visiting Nordic Adventures at their private cabin to utilise the wood burning sauna followed by ice swimming (or dipping as it was -28), included with the experience was a meal of local sausages, potato salad and traditional potato bread, with warm berry juice and cinnamon biscuits. This time round was just as great as the first and I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting Rovaniemi. Professionally run by a friendly couple with tonnes of local knowledge and a willingness to make sure you have the best experience.

Cozy experience - It was one of the high light of my 2022. It was in a forest. Very dark but cozy small lights were there in the hut. The sauna was simple and rustic. I took the sauna with 4 other people. Because of the small space, I felt a nice closeness with other people who I'd never met. The awesome part was sinking into the icy lake. I felt full of cool air in my lung. It was very refreshing. After the sauna, they provided us with a full meal of dinner. I thought was a snack but a dinner. Needless to say, it was delicious. All staff members were nice and well-attended. Thanks, Alex. I enjoyed having a conversation with you. I could understand Lapland culture little bit.

Amazing Memories - We went on 2 tours: "Rovaniemi sightseeing and Santa Village" and "Finnish Home and Sauna". Everything was very organised and perfect. Pedro was our guide on both and we could not have been happier. Pedro was very knowledgeable and friendly. We are a family of 4, childrens age being 18 and 20 and he was able to engage everyone. Also Alex was very helpful during the decision/booking process. Thank you both for such amazing experiences and memories

Terrific Exeprience - The Home and Wood Burned tour was terrific, short drive from city center and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The tour guides give you full autonomy, let you go from sauna to swimming as you please and then cook a nice meal for afterwards in a cozy cottage. Well worth it.
