Highlights

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane - Midelt – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi

Fes - 3 day desert excursion from Fez to Fez Our adventure today to discover Morocco’s mystics and civilizations will begin by following the path of the Medieval Caravans to the Sahara’s entrance. We will go to Merzouga from Fez. The breathtaking picture of the middle Atlas rendered in cedar and pine trees will take your breath away.

Ifrane - Passing via Imouzzer and making a brief stop in the Swiss city of Ifrane, you will have the opportunity to see Morocco’s most significant forest and witness Berber apes around Azrou.

Midelt - From the middle Atlas Mountains to the high Atlas Mountains, which reach a height of roughly 12,000 feet. We may have lunch at Midelt.
This quaint village is surrounded by stunning natural scenery. It is well-known for producing high-quality apples. Lunch will be in one of the town’s typical restaurants.

Erfoud - As we approach the Sahara and the vast Oasis of Taffilalet, the green mountainous environment will give way to a warmer one. We will take a brief stopover in Erfoud to explore the region’s varied cultural heritage.

Merzouga - Then, on our final visit to the desert, we’ll go to Merzouga. When we arrive, a camel man will greet us with a pot of mint tea, just like his grandfathers did. Then he’ll lead us on the back of his camel caravan into the desert to a nomad camp. We will enjoy nomadic mythological dances and sleep under the Milky Way and Pole Stars at this camp.

Day 2: Merzouga desert excursion and Camel Trek

Merzouga - Our camel guy will try to get us up early in the morning. He’ll make careful not to miss the sunrise over the Sahara. This diverse presentation is fascinating. It imparts a sense of transcendence across time and place. It demonstrates that the Sahara’s never-ending splendour is everlasting. We will begin our excursion to explore the area around Merzouga after breakfast. People in this region had created a perception of time and space that was distinct from that of major cities. Home is a big area for them, unbounded by walls or personal property. Water is a shared resource that everyone has access to. We’ll pay a visit to a Nomad family. They will show us their way of life and discuss the struggles as well as the peace they find in the Sahara. Our excursion will also lead us to a nomad wire home to learn about the mining history of this region at the turn of the twentieth century.

Erg Chebbi - We’ll have time to recover and have lunch in the afternoon before riding our camels into the Erg Chebbi to view the sunset. We’ll stay in desert camp tonight.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Middle Atlas – Ifrane – Fes

Merzouga - Our camel guy will try to get us up early in the morning. He’ll make careful not to miss the sunrise over the Sahara. This diverse presentation is fascinating. It imparts a sense of transcendence across time and place. It demonstrates that the Sahara’s never-ending splendor is everlasting.

Azrou - We will return to Fez after breakfast, following in the footsteps of medieval caravans and armies raised from the dunes of the Sahara to link Morocco with the European continent. Ifrane, a picturesque mountain city, will be passed through on the road to Fez. It is known as “the Switzerland of Morocco.” We will also make a halt in the heart of the Atlas Mountains to see a cedar grove.

Fes - This tour will provide us with an excellent opportunity to experience the grandeur of the Middle and Upper Atlas mountains. End of tour in Fes.

Fez to Fez 3 days desert tour - We used fez Culture Tours to organize our trip around Morocco. In short, the trip exceeded all our expectations. Our driver, Nisrine, was amazing. Not only did she provide safe and reliable transport, she was so knowledgable about the country. We appreciated her flexibility and suggestions for enhancing the trip to make sure we got a more “local” experience. We were impressed by all the accommodations, the beauty of Morocco (Mountains, desert, old cities...)the incredible foods and the hospitality of every person we meet. Thank you to all the team at Fez Culture Tours.

The best tour guide in Fes - The four of us visited Morocco from London and did the 3 day tour from Fes to Fes and absolutely loved it. Excellent value for money; the accommodation was comfortable (Fes Culture Tours gave us an upgrade-thank you for that!!) and the itinerary was well-planned. We stopped at many super interesting places on the way to Merzouga and had a wonderful time in the desert camp. Our tour guide, Nisrine, was incredibly genuine and helpful and honestly the best tour guide you could possibly ask for. She’s super nice, very knowledgeable, and did so much for us on this trip. Aside from many little things (like organising for our washing to be done during the trip and accommodating various requests), she got along really well with our young daughter (who decided to adopt her as a big sister 🙈) and when we went to the souk, she bargained on our behalf at all the places we went and saved us hundreds (if not thousands) of dirhams. She also went out of her way to find us a good, authentic Fes hammam to visit after our trip was over and got us in at the local price instead of the “tourist price” (which was 10x more). We were so impressed with this tour that we went ahead and booked Nisrine and Fez Culture tours for the Chefchaoun tour after we finished the desert trip. If we’re ever back in Fes, we wouldn’t hesitate to book this again and to recommend to all friends visiting Fes. Thank you Nisrine and Fes Culture Tours for an amazing desert experience!! Would highly recommend these guys ❤️

Fez to Fez 3 days desert tour - This tour was insane for my adult daughter and me. Our driver Nisrine, was the best part. She was not our driver for the entire trip but become our guide and friend. She share her Culture with us . We always felt safe and protected. On our tour we saw, experienced and tasted so many diffrent parts of Morocco:mountains, desert, old cities. Thank you 'Fez Culture tours' and Nisrine for making our trip so special. I highly recomend both.
