Best Cooking class and Fes experience!! - Amazing cooking class! Firstly, Sufyan is the best! Very responsive, and so friendly and welcoming! Everything from booking to pick up to arranging for the driver to take us on a tour after so we can see more of the Fez, was perfect!! We absolutely loved this experience. We were only in Fes for one day and it happened to be a Friday and then Medina was quiet and a lot of stalls closed, so we decided to take a local cooking class! Sufyan took us to the local food market in the Medina with some stalls open to finish buying some local produce and meat! And then we went to the Riad (which is actually inside of the Medina and absolutely amazing to see an old house inside of the Medina) to do the cooking! Now, for the cooking! Special thank you to Fatima and her assistant! The food she helped us make were her family recipes and the best food we’ve had yet in Morocco! From the fresh bread we made - which was how she makes it every day, to the salads (we learned a lot of new and super easy tricks for slicing veggies we will be using from now on!) to the beef tanjine she showed us how to make was incredible! The fresh veggies and produce that is so often used in Moroccan cooking was in full display here! The end product was a delicious meal that we helped make - but ultimately, it was Fatima and her assistant (and Sufyan) who used her family recipes to show us how traditional food is prepared! We loved this experience and everyone involved were the kindest and most helpful people! We highly recommend Sufyans cooking experience in Fes! It was one of the best days and meals we had!!! Thank you Sufyan (and Fatima and Hamza and everyone else)!!

Unforgettable Experience in Fes! - Sufyan picked us up from our riad (so we wouldn't get lost), we went ingredient shopping and then to a very special location to prep and cook! He provided a really great experience with his counterparts and made our rainy day in Fes incredible. It was so fun prepping food together as well as discussing Moroccan culture and life at the same time. Would 100% recommend this experience to anyone traveling through Fes. It was a really refreshing type of class and Sufyan was a warm and friendly host.

Fantastic experience! - Great experience all the way! We learned how to cook three different dishes with Abdul and Hadija in a very nice kitchen which was inside a well-maintained guest house. Abdul took us to the local food market where we bought all ingredients and then we learned how to prepare the classic Moroccan cuisine. At the end we enjoyed the fruits of our work, which tasted excellent! We even learned a bit more about daily life in Fes, religion and society, beside the cooking.

Great class in a family home! - We are an American couple visiting Morocco for the first time. We can’t say enough good things about the experience we had with Sufyan and his family. After meeting us outside the Médina, he took us shopping for ingredients inside the walled city. Without his guidance we would have been totally lost, but he was also just great company. Very friendly, inquisitive and willing to share. When we got back to the house, Sufyan and his family greeted us with mint tea and more very pleasant conversation. His mother, sister and the rest of the family truly made us feel at home as we learned how to make bread (including a visit to the neighborhood’s oven), Moroccan salads and tagine. Easily one of the better meals we have had on the trip. We left feeling full and very happy with the experience, which was about half of the day in total. Would definitely recommend this cooking class to fire time travelers and even those who have been to Fes before but are looking to learn a bit more.

Great local experience! - My friend and I attended this family cooking class and thoroughly enjoyed it! The host family was extremely welcoming. We got to shop at the local market and even sent our bread to the communal oven to bake. What a delicious meal we cooked up! I highly recommend this cooking class to anyone who would want to get some hands-on experience in Moroccan cooking.

Wonderful Family! - This was such a highlight for us during our time in Morocco. Sufyan was a fantastic guide throughout the day, explaining a lot about the Moroccan culture (his English is great) and was highly attentive. His family were absolutely lovely and gracious and welcomed us into their beautiful home. His mother Fatima and sister Melia taught us how to make several Moroccan dishes and we all had it together afterwards - it was so delicious. We now have plans to host a Moroccan-themed dinner party back in London using our new found Moroccan culinary skills. Choukran Sufyan and family!!

Outstanding Experience - We received such a warm welcome from this friendly family and learned so much that I’m sure this will be the highlight of our stay in Morocco. I am vegetarian but this was no problem! From shopping in the local market, from learning new techniques and recipes, visiting the communal bread oven and sitting down to eat our delicious meal, the day was fun packed and absorbing. Everything was well organised and efficient and we would totally recommend this unforgettable experience.

Favorite part of my Morocco travels; A MUST DO! - My time with Soufiane’s family was easily the most memorable part of my 2 weeks in Morocco. As a chef in the states, I was very keen to get in the kitchen to learn a few staple Moroccan dishes/techniques to share with friends/family back home. Fatima, Laminae, and Abdilah were the most amazing hosts and we prepared several stellar dishes. Soufiane was amazing in regards to communication once I booked the class... everything was truly seamless. The day started with a driver picking me up at Bab Bou Jeloud and he drove me over near their house in Place R’cif. There I met Fatima and Laminae and we went to the souk to pick up the ingredients for the recipes. I didn’t select the dishes myself as I wanted to let them pick but I’m sure they’d definitely be happy to entertain any specific requests (they did ask about any food restrictions). From there we went to their place to start the day. We had a bit for tea and some cookies that they had baked for the arrival and got to know one another a bit more. We first prepared traditional Moroccan bread and took it to the communal oven to be baked. Then we started on a couple of Moroccan “salads” and prepared the beef tagine. It’s a very hands on experience and they answered all of my numerous questions not only about the dishes but Moroccan culture itself. Once we were finished we all sat together at the table and enjoyed our feast. It was definitely the best meal I had during my travels. There are a couple cooking courses I was looking at before I booked, but what drew me to Soufiane’s was working with locals and preparing a meal as they would for themselves or family/friends. If I ever make it back to Fes I will definitely reach out to cook with them again.
