Additional Information

Amelia Island, abundant with deep-rooted history, is the unique place across the United States to have raised 8 autonomous flags. Its profound historical richness transports us across time, starting from the early life of the Timucuan Indians, our initial settlers dating back to 2000 BC. The sequence of flags narrate a saga of spiritual conflict and oppression, the influence of Christianity not granting the worship of any other deity. The Revolutionary war exerted a crushing blow on the island, with rebels making moves under the cloak of divine authority. Everyone from smugglers and slave traders to pirates played a role in shaping this Island’s progress. This captivating journey offers a hint into how an ostensibly insignificant barrier island has profoundly and obscurely influenced America’s history. We invite you to take part in this astounding expedition traversing through centuries of impressive historical truths.

A Fun and Informative Tour - Sonny was an excellent and well informed tour guide. We enjoyed our time with him. He introduced us to parts of Amelia Island that we would never have found like the smallest state park in the US.

Educational! - The guide was fun and knew a lot about Amelia island! It's the perfect tour for a rainy day or for people with mobility issues. I personally would have liked to get out of the van more to explore.

Just OK - Our tour guide, Sonny, was a very pleasant man who truly wanted us to have a great time. But the tour was a bit unorganized, with random facts about history, religion, real estate, flags, and food all mixed together. It was a pleasant day, I learned a few things, but I would not call this a "can't miss" type of tour.
