Wonderful church building steeped in history - I took a guided tour of this wonderful and historic church building. So we got in without waiting and I learned a lot. Sometimes a church, sometimes a museum, sometimes a mosque and currently both. I can only recommend that everyone learn more about the history of the church.

Extremely beautiful - Located in the center of the beautiful city of Istanbul, it was a great emotion to visit it. At the entrance they provide you with a scarf to cover the women's hair, and entry is permitted barefoot. To visit

Breathtaking Views of Hagia Sophia - Absolutely breathtaking mosque that reminds you of the glory of the former Ottoman Empire. The architecture is so perfect that you can stare at it for hours on end. I highly recommend everyone to check it out and enjoy a great time!

Hagia Sophia Mosque - Hagia Sophia, located in Istanbul, Turkey, is one of the most significant architectural marvels in history. Originally constructed as a Christian cathedral in the 6th century, it later became an imperial mosque under the Ottoman Empire and is now a museum.

Beautiful place - Beautiful mosques, a marvel to see and pray inside. It is a must see for anyone visiting Istanbul. Women - dress modestly, carry a scarf to cover head, bear in mind prayer times

Agia Sophia - East Orthodox church built 15 centuries ago and converted to a catholic church some 10 centuries ago, before turning to mosque with the Ottoman conquest mid 15C. Amazing mosaics, mostly destroyed, though some are still alive and partially preserved, especially the ones of Jesus and The Holy Mother. Absolutely stunning and breathtaking experience!

Only Gallery Is open - You wait a long line, you pay 25 euros, you go upstairs, and that is all! You are not allowed to go to the main building unless you are Muslim so you miss a big deal of the experience. You cannot be under that gorgeous dome and that males a big gap in the whole experience Beware of museum staff trying to sell you combk ticket promising that you will see down stairs, no! That combo is for the experience museum they out together.

Over rated and expensive - Complete rip off for foreigners. Turkish people can go in for free and access the entire mosque. Foreigners have to pay 25 euros to enter and are onky allowed access to half of the top balcony. Even kids have to pay 25 euros to enter. Entire tour over in 30 or so minutes. Ostensibly Turkish people have free entry to pray but as you look over from the balcony.... Most Turkish people in the main hall were just frolicking around taking pictures. Entry fee felt like a Jizya.

ugly coverings and gender segregation - Awful. I went here as a kid and was amazed and had a good time when it was a museum. Now it’s a mosque and you can really see the difference- ugly carpeting and coverings of the Christian parts (very disrespectful to its history to do this in my opinion) and don’t bother going if you’re a woman. You will not be allowed into the main area and will be kicked out if you commit the egregious crime of having XX chromosomes. Women are relegated to a small dinky area while the men get to view the altar and main dome with no restriction. I did not know some parts of Turkey were still stuck in the 1600’s, but it’s a shame that such a historic beauty has been soiled by modern politics. Garbage experience, go to the Blue Mosque instead.
