Best Camel rides in Gran Canaria - From the initial booking through to organising our travel back to our hotel, everything about our experience went smoothly and we had a fantastic camel ride. This was a huge a relief for myself and my family after we had an awful and very disappointing experience with trying to book a camel ride with another Camel Safari operator at the sand dunes in Maspolamas in which we were turned away from their park after queuing at the entrance for over because we did not have tickets and then later failing to receive tickets we had attempted to book with them online. The host and staff at Camel Safari La barrenda are lovely people who made us fell very welcomed from the minute we arrived. The tapas we enjoyed (included with our trip) was made from fresh ingredients grown in the grounds of the Safari park and was superb. The trip itself takes you through a mountainous valley with stunning surroundings and lasts 30 mins. There is also a tour of the grounds included and a chance to meet and feed a baby camel and donkeys. You can also get a picture taken of you with your camel for an extra cost. If you are looking to do a camel trip in Gran Canaria I could not reccomend this place more.

This was more fun than I thought it was gonna be - This experience was so much fun the camels, the donkeys, the peacock, the parrots, all of the beautiful vegetation that made for a delicious drink and treats as well as a yummy lunch!

Would recommend highly - We rode camels through the valley, had tapas and a free drink, the staff were fantastic and very accommodating, Anita went above and beyond for us and I cannot thank them enough! She even made a cake for my friends birthday and provided party hats! The experience was great for the money we paid Big thank you x

Not really a walking... - Not really a walking Botanical Garden! Camel ride is good. Everything else you have to pay extra for. It was fun but definitely not 4 hours. Tapas lunch was tasty.

Nothing to write home about - It was nice to do once. But it was presented better than it actually was.

Terrible and dangerous experience - II was with two kids in this Camel Safari Park in February 2026 and we had a terrible experience! My 12 years old daughter was bitten by a camel. Yes, it was our fault, because we were actually asked in the beginning to feed only baby camels and donkeys. I overlooked when she started to feed the big one. The camel took her hand and didn't let it loose for a while. It was quite a drama, my daughter was shocked and screaming like hell. It happened just after the ride. We were walking back towards the cafe, my daughter was screaming and crying. The owner of the farm was walking towards us with a new group of tourists. We told him what happened. He just said that it was our problem and walked further without offering any help or saying a kind word to the crying girl. It was very cynical and shocking. They just see money from tourists, nothing else. We have no complaints about the camel but the farm owner is just a greedy and heartless person. Well, the lady at the cafe was lovely, she talked nicely and disinfected the wound. Later we went to the doctor and got antibiotics. The finger is not totally healed. That was our experience which spoiled our vacation in Gran Canaria...

I regret every minute! - This was one of my worst experiences in Gran Canaria. Normally we don't book these tourist attractions but my daughter wanted to do this camel ride. When we arrived and saw the camels, I didn't want to climb up and I regret doing it anyway. The camels transport 2 people left and right and carry a muzzle of chains, wires and straps, which cuts their nostrils completely. They breathe very hard and are in a very bad condition. We just felt sorry for them the whole ride. My daughter and I wanted to get off all the time, but we couldn't because several camels are tied together and we weren't allowed to. I still have such a guilty conscience about having been through such cruelty to animals. If you have a heart for animals, there is no way they book this tour.
