Great tour, disappointing accommodation - I did the tour up to Fansipan at the start of October and found the tour to be very good, if harder work than expected. The tour guides were good, although had limited English. The biggest frustration was related to the overnight accommodation, I expected this to be basic and didn’t mind the absence of heating, electricity or running water. However, I was disappointed with the paper thin sleeping bag, mattress and absence of a pillow. This combined with the doors of the hut not closing made sleeping almost impossible. Overall a good tour, but could be made much better with simple improvements to the sleeping equipment provided and by fixing the doors so they don’t slam open and shut with the wind throughout the night.
