Luminous Algae Experience - Arrive at covered bat. Passes are assigned by group. We had private tour (better experience). Enjoyed fire show at covered bar. All receive complimentary drinks - food optional for purchase. Board boat and enter lagoon. Algae glow in water under and around boat waves. Night swimming in lagoon optional; unique experience. A bucket of water provided to agitate algae on boat. Great to experience and explore.

So Cool! - This was so cool!!! Unfortunately it was a windy night and full moon so the Lagoon wasn't a illuminated as it normally would have been. However it was still bright and the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Lagoon. Made it very interesting. It's cool to know only 4 places in the world you can experience this and we got to. Pictures do no justice.

A very unique and memorable experience - What an extraordinary and memorable experience (and only available in 4 places on earth!). This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Jamaica. While I highly recommend swimming in the water so you have the full experience, it is optional. The activity includes a small welcome drink, a 'fire show', the boat/swim experience, and all transportation. It couldn't have been any easier. A couple of suggestions for those planning this excursion: (1) bring a change of clothes for the drive home so you're more comfortable and (2) bring a camera that performs well in low-light (many cameras aren't sensitive enough to capture the glow from the organisms). For those who are worried about their swimming skills, the boat provides life jackets and the water itself is generally only 4-5 feet deep.

Magical lagoon - Just get a taxi to take you there. From Montego Bay it should only be 50 dollars round trip. Buy the photos from the photographer. There is no need to pay to do this with a guide. All you need is transportation there and back. The food shack next to boat sells frozen smoked marlin. We defrosted it and ate it with crackers and cream cheese. So good If you mess up and do this in a group as an excursion you will end up on big slow bus. And it will cost much more

A must see - I went with my girlfriend and another couple to the luminous lagoon. We booked with Patrick from VIP tours Jamaica. It was a great experience from start to finish. Patrick was full of local knowledge and told us about the sights as we travelled to the lagoon. He is a very trustworthy person and really makes us feel at ease during the trip. The lagoon was a highlight of our trip. I would recommend this trip and also VIP tours Jamaica to travel with.

Great bucket list excursion! - Great bucket list excursion! Boat staff very friendly and professional. Great tour! It would have been nice to stay in the water a bit longer. Beware-bar staff charged men more than women for beverages. Also not very friendly towards women.

Great Tour - Watching the lagoon light up was definitely a sight to see. I was skeptical about getting in the water but our guide Shane was so amazing. He stayed with me the entire time and talked about why the lagoon glows at night. He made the tour so much better than what I expected.

Not worth the money - Save yourself some money because this night-time tour was not worth it. It's advertised as a "private tour/activity, only your group will participate." When my group and I got there, we were under the impression that we would have our own guide and boat. Turns out they just put you in a boat with other people (some boats had 30-40 people while others had 15-20). When I asked the manager about the private tour, he said "no, that just means that it's for private transfer from your hotel only," when clearly the additional info says "private tour/activity, only your group will participate." Also, this tour advertises that it will be approximately 45 minutes in the water. But, we were in the water for barely 15 minutes. Everything felt so rushed, and they just want your money.

A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY..... - DO NOT DO NOT go on this tour... it is a waste of time and money. If I could give them less than one star I would. They take you about 10 to 20 feet from shore and it is pitch dark. Was unable to see anything glow. Everyone who jumped in said the water was freezing. The people were swimming around and all I saw was mud. One of the workers on the boat brings a bucket of water on board for the people that didn't jump in and I was able to see the glow (which was the highlight of the trip). Really don't go to this!!!
