Loving Hampden - the best kept secret! - The staff at Hampden and the experience in being at the oldest working rum distiller was amazing. Please do the Tour and Lunch!! You will not regret it. Got there through the expertise of Mr. Norman Dixon. What a treat!!

Great visit to a beautiful plantation. - Had a wonderful and enlightening tour with Steve. I highly recommend him as a tour guide. We had a choice of jerk pork or chicken for lunch. The rum punch was nice. They had no aged rum for sale at r the time no of my visit, but were bottling some the next week

Nice tour - Took this tour when in port on cruise. The drive to the distillery was as others described...slow and full of large potholes but our driver got us there and back safely. Both he and the tour guide at the distillery were knowledgeable about Jamaica and the rum distillery process. Enjoyed the lunch of jerk chicken and bread. Rum punch was good. Small gift shop thrrr but they were not pushy to get sales.

Hampden Estate Rum Tour - Great tour, well worth the visit. If you like distilleries, this is a great place to stop and do the tour. Our tour guide Steve did a fantastic job taking us through the facility. Unexpectedly, he gave us a history lesson of Jamaica and how it is tied to sugarcane and ultimately rum. I learned a lot about Jamaica that I didn’t know and about the distillery process. By the way, their rum is very good and hard to find in the states. There is a nice little gift shop at the end where you can pick out their different lines of rum.

Best tour ever! - My girlfriend and I booked a tour at the Hampden estate rum distillery. We were greeted at the door by Steve, our tour guide, and Peppie, the liaison who helped us set up the tour and transportation. Let me set this straight. These guys are the real deal, and make some of the best spirits and my personal favourite rum that I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Steve and Peppie are both amazingly knowledgeable and courteous, and helped us to understand the history of not only Jamaican rum, but the culture and beautiful island itself. If you are considering any kind of excursion while enjoying this fair island, I could not recommend this enough. Ask for Steve, that guy is the best. Thanks again!

Fantastic! - Steve gave a fun and informative presentation and tour, severed up some delicious rums and Jr. and Jennifer made us a delicious jerk pork, chicken and rice lunch. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in distillation, rum or Jamaican culture.

Interesting, Informative and Great food and, of course, RUM! - What a great outing for our whole family! The road to get there is a bit rough or, as they call it, "a whole body massage" of a car ride. Once there, we were warmly greeted and sat in a lovely spot with some yummy run punch to hear the tale of the history of Hampden Estates with sprinkles of Jamaican information as well. The walk around the estates was very nice with peacocks and bunnies and assorted other things of interest. The story of the rum-making was very interesting and shared by people who are obviously passionate about this place, product and process. The walking to the distillery was a bit long for my dad (about 100 metres) and they were very accommodating to get a chair, ease the pace and get him a ride back to the main area. So helpful! Lunch was jerk chicken and festival (sort of a donut/sweet roll but they will tell you the story). The jerk sauce was very flavourful and, of course, had a hint of rum as a secret ingredient. All in all, it was 2.5 hours of leisurely fun which was interesting and different.
