- Isla Palominos - Sandy Bottoms Sailing offers personalized snorkeling, and island hopping tours to the offshore islands of the East Coast of Puerto Rico. Sail with style and comfort in our 47 ft Beneteau Sailboat, while taking in the beautiful views. Our tours are always private (max of 6 guests) and designed around you & your parties’ desires. Snorkel, swim, relax on a float, sun bathe on the deck, sip cocktails on a white sandy beach! You and your personal captain will pick the best destination based on ocean conditions, wind, and visibility for snorkeling.
Our sail takes about one hour to our destination and an hour return. This leaves us with 4 hours to enjoy snorkeling, swimming, paddle boarding, sun bathing, and the beach. Depending on ocean conditions, we visit Palomino, Icacos, and/or Lobos. We do not sail to Culebra.
A large selection of appetizers/snacks & our full ship bar are included. Please feel free to bring additional food or beverages if you desire.

Additional Information
Sandy Bottoms provides tailored snorkel excursions, exploration of islands, and instruction on sailing to the outer islands on Puerto Rico’s Eastern Coast. We curate our tours with your needs and wants in mind. We maintain a cap of six people on board to ensure personalized service and a remarkable experience. The trip encompasses snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards, and recreational inflatables. If needed, brief tutorials on snorkeling and paddle boarding are available.
Our objective is to impart our passion for sailing and the sea to you. We customize our daily plans as per your sail and snorkel aspirations.
In addition, our ventures consist of a wide variety of starters like a fancy cheese and fruit platter, avocado dip, chickpea dip, assorted munchies and cookies. We extend an open bar for you to relish. Our offerings include rum, vodka, tequila, and dry wine, paired with a choice of organic juices, fizzy beverages, and cocktail mixers. We also keep local beer on deck.
- Children under 4 are not allowed for their own safety. The ever changing ocean conditions & our boat size are factors.
- Pregnant woman are not allowed because of the ocean conditions and the distance to a nearby hospital. You and your baby’s safety are our top priority.

A magical memory making day! - Captain Arturo and Christie were awesome! Arturo knows so much about the island and brought us to the perfect spot and shared so much of the island’s history. He is really funny and they knew just how to keep us entertained. They have everything you need. Floats, snorkel gear, paddle boards, snacks, and drinks. Christie was always one step ahead of us and made the most delicious cocktails and made a beautiful charcuterie board with all of the fixings. The breakfast when you get on board was perfect! We felt right at home on his beautiful sailboat. It was the most magical part of our 50th birthday girls trip. From start to finish, it was perfect!! Thank you, Captain Arturo and Christie!!

Family Friendly Fun on the water - We had an amazing day out on the water with Arturo and Christy. They were very engaging with us and our kids. The trip included visiting 2 different islands where we went snorkeling, paddle boarding, and floated with some great margaritas. We all had a great time and would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to spend time out on the water but not on a crowded boat.

We had the best time! - Perfect for a bachelorette! Arturo and Kristy were so great and accommodating. Even when we lost a snorkel goggle, Arturo jumped into help find it. Definitely book for your trip, you won’t regret it!

A day we will always remember! - Everything was amazing! We were surprised at how much food, drink and wonderful conversation we had. We anchored in a spot are saw an amazing reef with lots of fish, an incredible ship wreck and a sea turtle habitat. In addition to the plethora of fish, we saw a sting ray, sea urchins and dolphins! We could not have had a better time, it was AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for a wonderful day.

Incredible day on the water - We had an incredible day! We started our day with a spread of delicious fruit, coffee, and pastries in the boat, and then we sailed out to an island. We went snorkeling and swam around the boat once we got there. The drinks were delicious, the food was delicious, and we had great conversation with our hosts. Will 110% be booking this experience again if we make another trip. Everything was exactly as advertised, if they are available during your trip, it is a must.

Luxury experience on the water! - Amazing experience! Arturo and Christy we’re so accommodating and good at what they do! We were very impressed by everything from the boat to the amenities, and the food. The drinks were great! They had all of the accessories to snorkel and have a great time. We felt very safe and looked after. They made a great team and the overall experience was 5 stars! Also if the captain is looking for a wife, I’m interested! LOL!!

Great trip! - The best time! Relaxing, everything g was well thought out and planned for. Certainly the best part of the trip! Wear a swimming shirt or your back will be fried. This is great for couples or families. We were able to swim/snorkel with manatees, sea turtles, sunken barges and lots of fish. The sail was smooth and relaxing.

Best excursion ever!! - My wife and I were greeted by the captain and his staff. We were welcomed with coffee, local pastries, fruit and mimosas! They were both so kind and allowed us the flexibility of going wherever we wanted after providing his recommendations based on conditions. There was zero pressure all day and they were so accommodating! We are definitely going again! Best excursion we have ever taken!

Amazing experience! - Katie and Arturo were so friendly. The boat was amazing and the trip and island were beautiful. We didn’t have to lift a finger, and the drinks/food were delicious. If you are considering it, definitely book, you won’t regret it. I honestly can’t say enough about the hospitality. They made us feel like we were long time friends! Katie was incredible with my son and so accommodating. Wonderful time for our family of 4! I’d do it again!
