- Fayoum Oasis - Start the trip from your hotel in Cairo or Giza to Fayoum oasis. Stop by lake qaroon to watch the immigrating birds & seaguls, also to get morning tea or coffee (included)
- Valley of the Whales (Wadi Al-Hitan) - We then continue our trip to Wadi El-Hitan. The site is a world’s heritage site with 40 million to 200 million years of age. There is a nice museum shows fossils and climate change. Hike the fossils open museum & visit the museum.
Lunch is barbeque in the site of Wadi El-Hitan
- Wadi El-Rayan - Wadi El-Rayan is the meeting point of two lakes in the depression of Fayoum which produces waterfalls for your joyful nature scenes. Photography is too much fun here. There are Felucca small boats in the lakes for some peaceful moments sailing in a journey to the sun.

An amazing journey - Islam and Ahmed were amazing. They made the most of every moment, asked my input, and honestly made it an amazing and super memorable day. I cannot say enough great things about them and this excursion. 100% must do and I’d highly recommend them for it.

Désert Ride!! - The experience was great our guide Ahmed and the driver Ahmed ( best desert driver !!) were very helpfull and kind
There has been a misanderstanding between TripAdvisor and the local Operator. They were sure that Lunch wasn't included and that was a problème because we booked thé Day with Lunch it was clearly specified in what is Included TripAdvisor should contact the Operator to clear things up.

Amazing day trip to Wadi El Hitan and Fayoum arranged by Egypt Tailor Made Tours and guided by Ahmed Zaki - Egypt Tailor Made Tours arranged our day trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wadi El Hitan, also known as Valley of Wales and to Fayoum Oasis and it's Magic Lake. ETMT headed by Mr. Walid Fathy is a thoroughly professional tour operator. Our trip was made memorable by our guide Mr. Ahmed Zaki, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He is vastly experienced and has a great deal of knowledge about Egypt and it's history. These are must see places and we were able to understand the true essence of these places thanks to the wonderful narrative by Ahmed Zaki. He also asked our driver to take us for dune bashing which was a thrilling experience.

Excellent indeed - By all means impressive. UNESCO has helped supervise the building of a museum with a video overview of the history of location and it is a must watch. The small museum is also worth visiting besides the whales and reptiles skeletons on the walking tour which is a must see as well. It is a world heritage location preserved under the UNESCO supervision and well worth the visit.

Very good day! - We had an issue with the 4 wheel drive that was to be used for this trip (no seat belts, no air con, 4 uncomfortable side located seats) but the guide was more than happy to take us in his own car and have the vehicle tag along in case we got stuck in the sand. Indeed, our guide was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful.
The places we visited were wonderful, especially the fossil site. It was great to get out of Cairo and see more of the surrounding countryside.

Wadi el hittan is worth the visit - We had a good time visiting the whale valley. Beautiful place in the desert, a hike worth the while. The other two stops (lake qarun and wadi rayan) are absolutely underwhelming. A large body of water (x2) with a lot of garbage and filth. Nothing to see really. Our driver had a less then ideal driving style, so we bumped our heads quite a few times when racing through the potholes.
