Simien Mountains National Park - Embark on an exhilarating 2-night, 3-day trek starting from Gondar. The journey begins with a morning pick-up and a 100 km drive to Debark, the National Park’s headquarters. After a picturesque 2-hour drive, we’ll pause in Debark to secure park entry permits and enjoy a refreshing tea or coffee break. If time permits, we can explore the vibrant local market, especially lively on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
From Debark, we’ll drive 16 km to the park gate, followed by another 6 km to our trek’s starting point. The starting point can be tailored to your interests and available time. As we hike, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the escarpment and encounter various plant and bird species. Keep an eye out for the fascinating Gelada Baboon, as well as klipspringers, bushbucks, and other unique flora and fauna.
Our trek will last approximately 4 hours until we reach Sankaber camp, located at an elevation of 3250m above sea level. Before dinner, you’ll have time to spot animals at sunset.

Trek from Sankaber Camp to Chenek Camp via Jinbar Waterfall and Mt. Inatye 4070m absl
Simien Mountains National Park - Day 2: Embark on an exciting trek from Sankaber to Chenek, passing through the magnificent Jinbar Waterfall and reaching the summit of Mt. Inatye at 4070m above sea level. The morning trek to the waterfall offers a memorable journey, allowing you to immerse yourself in the adventure and exploration of the Simien Mountains. Witness the diverse plant species and encounter exotic wildlife such as the Gelada baboons. After enjoying the waterfall, drive for 20 minutes to Aynameda, then the car continues to the camp with the chefs and camping gear. You climb up Mt. Inatye with the security & local guide, reaching an elevation of 4070m above sea level, and marvel at the panoramic 360-degree view. Have a picnic on the mountaintop and then trek down to Chenek Camp for approximately 2 hours, experiencing breathtaking views along the vertical cliffside. Chenek Camp, situated at 3620m above sea level, marks the end of your second-day hike, totaling 6 hours of trekking.

Simien Mountains National Park - On the last day of your hike, you’ll start with a delicious breakfast at the campsite, which might be colder than before and experience a delayed sunrise due to the peak blocking it. At sunrise, you’ll explore nearby cliffs and possibly spot Walia ibex, Ethiopian wolves & Gelada Baboons.
Next, you’ll ascend 800m for 3 hours to Bhwait’s summit, 4430 meters high, for awe-inspiring views of Bhwait, Berochwuha, Silki, Lori village, and Mt. Ras Dejen. This popular route offers an hour to enjoy the 360-degree panorama and snap photos.
Afterward, you’ll descend 2 hours to Chenek Camp, passing through stunning lobelia plants and everlasting flowers, and explore a mountain cave used for livestock shelter during droughts and floods for the villagers. This area is special, as it’s where the tour company founder grew up with his family’s livestock.
Lunch in Chenek, then drive 4 hours back to Gondar. Your 3-day Simien adventure ends upon arrival and transfer to the airport for a flight to Addis Ababa.
An amazing 3 days Danakil Depression tour start
Danakil Depression - Take the morning flight from Addis Ababa to Semera. Our driver and guide will pick you up from Semera Airport and drive to the extraordinary volcanic landscapes of the Danakil Depression. Stop for lunch at the Afar village of Afdera known for its salt lake. Continue to Hamed Ela; the total drive will be almost 6 hours, catching a glimpse of the smoky mountains. Arrive at Dalol and take a short break at the camp. Then head to Lake Giulietti, a saltwater lake located over 100 meters below sea level. Witness a breathtaking sunset, swim in the floating salt lake, see salt mining by the locals, caravans, and admire the vibrant red salt mountains. Return to the camp for a delicious dinner and sleep under the stars on comfortable wooden & leather strap-made bedding with mattresses and sheets.
Day 2 in the Desert, Ethiopian Volcanic Adventure: Exploring Danakil’s Wonders, Dalol, Sulfur Springs, Sulfur Lake, Salt
Danakil Depression - Ethiopian Volcanic Adventure: Exploring Danakil’s Wonders
Day 2 in the desert begins with an early start for a beautiful sunrise & to explore the sulfur springs, salt mountains, and hot springs, witnessing workers in action. Then, we’ll marvel at the landscape of Dallol and Lake Assal before heading to Erta Ale, a shield volcano with a lava lake. Take the opportunity to trek up to the volcano cone and witness the breathtaking boiling lava. After some hours at the volcano, we’ll retreat to the camp for a hearty dinner and stay overnight outside, surrounded by the beautiful stars and provided with comfortable mattresses, sheets & blankets on the floor bedding.
Last day of the desert tour and flight back to Addis Ababa for the next day’s nature trek tours
Danakil Depression - Day 6 or the last day of the Danakil Depression desert tour
We’ll wake up early to catch the sunrise at the northern pit crater, and then take a short walk to explore the southern and central pits. These pits offer a fascinating glimpse into ancient geological structures, with the main pit-crater being 200 meters deep and 350 meters across. The smaller southern pit is 65 meters wide and approximately 100 meters deep. After descending back to the camp, we’ll have some time to relax and have your last desert breakfast before packing up our camping gear. We’ll then drive back to Semera and catch a flight to Addis Ababa around 5:00 pm, marking the end of our incredible tour.
3 days Bale Mountains Trekking, Nature and Wildlife Spotting Tour starts
Bale Mountains National Park - Take the morning flight from Addis Ababa to Bale Goba Airport then drive to Dinsho and explore the wildlife of Dinsho.
Upon your arrival at Goba Airport, our Ethio Wildlife Tours team will be there to welcome you. From there, we will drive to Dinsho, the gateway to the Bale Mountains. After setting up camp, we will embark on a hike to discover the incredible wildlife of the area. Get ready to spot Warthogs, Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s Bushbuck, and Bohor Reedbuck. The bird enthusiasts among you will also have the chance to observe various endemic species. As the day comes to an end, we will enjoy a delicious dinner by a warm, crackling campfire. Overnight camping at Dinsho.

Bale Mountains National Park - Day 8 of Bale Mountains nature tour: Sanetti Plateau and the Enchanting Harenna Forest
Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise and enjoy a lovely breakfast. We will then pack up and drive to Sanetti Plateau. This is the perfect spot to witness the Ethiopian wolf, one of the rarest and most endangered canids in the world. The plateau is also home to a variety of rodents, including the giant mole-rat, and fascinating lichens. Keep an eye out for birds of prey soaring in the skies above. Continuing our journey, we will stop at Tulu Dimtu, the highest mountain in the park. As we descend towards the Harenna escarpment, be prepared for stunning views and a change in scenery. We will pass through the Harenna tropical forest, where you can explore a bamboo-filled canyon and two beautiful waterfalls. In this lush environment, you might even catch a glimpse of the black-and-white colobus monkey or the elusive Bale monkey. Overnight camping.
Last day of Bale Mountains nature tour, trekking, drive back to Bale Robe and take a flight to Addis Ababa
Bale Mountains National Park - Day 9: Captivating Gushuralle Peak Forest Trail
On the final day of our adventure, we will take a short drive to the southern part of the National Park. Here, we will embark on the Gushuralle Peak Forest Trail, a 2-3 hour journey through dense bamboo forest. Reach the summit of Gushuralle and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Harenna Forest. Keep your eyes peeled for the diverse wildlife that calls this forest home. After completing the trail, we will return to Goba town and transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Addis and wrap up the tour with Ethio Wildlife Tours.
