Additional Information
This scenic mountainous trek ventures along an elevated winding ridge with a few brief sharp climbs, delivering sweeping views of the Laurel woodland. We then take a trail deep into the heart of the sub-tropical rainforest, abundant with hanging lichen and moss. This is unquestionably one of the most significant eco-systems on this island.
Suddenly, like a sorcerer’s trick, open rural landscapes unveil, providing us some of the most breathtaking panoramic scenes of Tenerife. We then gaze down at the Masca gorge and surrounding volcanic terrain. On a clear day, the grand finale is the incredible sight of Mount Teide standing tall in the distance across the Santiago valley and the lava fields situated high up. Our expedition continues along comfortable trails through the Pine forest, and majestically descends into a valley that evokes the beauty of the English countryside.
This is a moderate trek, stretching 12 km with an ascent/descent of 375m over varying terrain. Its highest point is at an altitude of 1100m, taking around approximately 5 hours.

Great walk, great guide! - Really nice hike, Andy was very knowledgeable about the local terrain and natural surroundings. Was pleasantly surprised by the variation of landscapes on our tour. He was very friendly and arrived exactly on time. Our hotel wasn't on the list of pick ups but after contacting on his website he picked us up no problem. We do a lot of hiking at home but this gave us the opportunity to let Andy show us a great route without us having to think at all. If we come back to Tenerife we'll book with Andy again, really lovely walk, Thank You!

a great relaxing and satisfying day - A chill day out with Andy on a good hike with lovely views and flora in abundace. Andy knows a lot of nature and island facts and all is done and shared at a leasurely pace and tone. Ideal for me because I'm not in any hurry.

The highlight of my trip to Tenerife - I actually completed three walks with Andy during my stay in Tenerife. I have to say they were the highlight of my trip. I love walking but my husband doesn't share my enthusiasm, and so I was really happy that I was able to join in with Tenerife Guided Walks. Andy is really personable and knowledgeable, not only about the trails themselves but the flora and fauna and history of the island. The walks were all different - lunar landscapes, rocky pine forests and damp deciduous forests with lichen hanging from the trees. This island is an amazingly beautiful place and I'd like to say thanks to Andy for introducing me to that.

Amazing Hike - Masca was the most amazing hike. We had superb weather with stunning views. Andy our guide was great from the moment he picked us all up. We were a group of 7 and the craic was great. My only complaint was i didnt find the website earlier on my holiday as i would have done more hikes with Andy. Highly recommend Andy to lead you on these hikes, you wont be disappointed.

Stunning - Did 3 fabulous hikes with Andy who was very experienced and knowledgeable about the environment and terrain. Felt very safe in his hands. He was also a good laugh. In my opinion Masca from above was the best - stunning. Transport was A OK.
I look forward to hiking with Andy again and having a beer at the Blue Rabbit pub.
Would highly recommend this company.

A wonderful days hiking. - This was our third guided walk with Andy. His walks never fail to please. They are very varied and interesting. Some of the scenery and the views were breathtaking. There was a lot to experience and Andy is extremely knowledgeable about the landscape, the fauna and the flora. I felt very comfortable with the pace of our walk, the other walkers were always lovely and quite honestly I would recommend this company if you want a very happy and interesting days hiking. We will certainly sign up for more walks next year. Thank you Andy,

Safe and skilled guided walk with fabulous views - This was the first of three walks booked with Andy from Tenerife Guided Walks. It was a truly great walk - a few small ascents and then a fabulous ridge view out across the Masca valley towards La Gomera. It was a really windy day but Andy guided us skilfully and mindfully to ensure we all had a great experience. I took the walk with my husband but we both spent much of the time chatting to the other walkers which is one of the highlights of walking as part of a guided trip. Thanks Andy for this great introduction to walking in Tenerife. Thanks also to Lynne for being so helpful during the booking process and providing us with clear and precise pick up / meeting point details. We will not hesitate to book again when we are back on the island as there is so much to see and enjoy.

Simply a great hike!!! - We started our day meeting up Helen at our hotel lobby which is quite a distance from the starting point of our hike. Very kind of her.
Due to a traffic jam along TF1, we reached our starting point 45 mins late. The rest of the group, 7 of them, were very kind to wait for our family of four.
The hike was moderate but manageable. It is important to wear proper hiking shoes with good grip (high heels and slippers are definitely no-no). The views from the hike are amazing. We can see the Teide from afar. Our lunch picnic spot was unusual but certainly interesting. It is a lunch with an awesome view.
Andy and Helen were great guides. Helen in particular was encouraging the slightly slower group members while Andy, in his good old British humor, was entertaining the group with his funny jokes. Andy was very informative about the flora and fauna in the surrounding.
This was a great outing for my family and we will definitely recommend it to anybody who is keen on the great outdoors. Tenerife is more than just beach and pubs.

Great opportunity to hike Tenerife's beautiful mountains and countryside. - What a fantastic days walking high up above Masca villages with Andy. The views were wonderful, the terrain varied, and great company of all the other walkers.
Andy kept us informed about the features in the environment. Highly recommended. I'll be back early in the new year, and look forward to joining another walk.
