- Tips
Erg Chegaga, also known as Erg Chigaga, is a stunning sand dune located in the southeast region of Morocco, approximately 80km away from the village of Foum Zguid. Its vast golden sands, as well as its distinct Ergs, certainly justify its reputation as the enchanting Sahara desert of Morocco. The untamed Moroccan Sahara can only be ventured into through 4WD tours or traditional camel trekking should you be searching for a genuine adventure.
In the nation, we identify two kinds of desert: the REG, a rocky desert, and the ERG, a sandy environment. When visiting Chegaga, you’ll have the opportunity to traverse both from Reg to Erg, which provides a deeper appreciation of our phenomenal Sahara journey.
