Guests will be picked up from their hotel by a driver fluent in English. The drive from Rome to Vesuvius takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. The driver will transport them to Vesuvius, reaching up to 1000 meters above sea level. Guests will then board a shuttle that brings them close to the summit, where they will join a local guide and a group of visitors to explore the crater. As they approach the crater, the views become increasingly stunning. The driver will wait at the designated meeting point to then proceed to Pompeii. Upon arrival in Pompeii, travelers can enjoy lunch at one of the city’s restaurants before entering the Pompeii Archaeological Park.
• Pompeii Archaeological Park - The journey from Vesuvius to Pompeii takes 45 minutes. In Pompeii, travelers will explore an ancient Roman city near modern Naples. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many nearby villas, was buried under 4-6 meters (13-20 feet) of volcanic ash and pumice during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The inhabitants were also buried before they could escape. The ticket cost for the excavations is included in the price, and a local guide for groups of about 18 is also provided. Guests can choose to explore Pompeii with an audio guide if they prefer to remain independent of the group. The tour in Pompeii lasts for 2 hours.
