Herculaneum uncovered - We booked with Askos. Excellent archaeologist guide Antonella. So interesting to visit here after Pompeii… totally different experience and so well preserved. So much to see. Easy by metro and train from Naples. Very hot and little shade - bring water though accessible from vending machine at the end. Great experience.

Pompeii and Herculaneum tour with Sergio and Askos tours. - The small transport for 7 was on time for pick up in sorrento , the driver was friendly. On arrival at Pompeii the transfer to Sergio our archaeologist and tour guide was smooth. Sergio was clear and gave all an earpiece so we could hear him at all times. He was amazing in his dialogue, knowledge and interesting to hear on both Pompeii and herculaneum with his own enthusiasm plus info. We were so lucky to have such an interested knowledgable guide. Transport ran like a dream between sites and return journey. Highly recommend.

Fabulous guided tour of Herculaneum - Family trip to Herculaneum, we booked tour and tickets online the evening before. Booking was simple and we were kept well informed. The archeologist tour guide Nicoletta was amazing, she was so passionate and knowledgeable regarding the site and it's history. She gave us so much information we were gripped as it brought the experience to life. Earlier in the week we visited Pompeii, but we enjoyed this experience so much more, despite it being a smaller site. I would highly recommend doing the guided tour. Definitely the highlight of our holiday.

Great tour of fascinating, well preserved ruins - Great informative way to see this site. Perfect amount of time. When tour ends, can remain at site to see more - ask for directions to other main artifacts. (Guide Nicolette was fabulous.)

Marvellous Michaeli's tour of Herculaneum - Great tour with michaeli this morning. Booked at the last minute and very glad we had the opportunity to join before leaving for home this afternoon. This 2 hour session made for a very engaging tour of the city, which was made very interesting thanks to our guide, Michaeli who has a wealth of knowledge about Herculaneum which he explained in some detail, including his own personal experiences as an archaeologist. We are sorry to have had to leave just before the tour finished but we were tight on time to get back to the airport 😊

Amazing and interesting - We went on this tour instead of going to Pompeii as had heard Herculaneum was better preserved and more manageable to visit (quieter and smaller). Had a 2 hour tour which was a whirlwind of fascinating information and incredibly preserved sights due to this town being affected by the hot wind and then the mud, rather than the lava, from the eruption, Our tour guide was Luciano Leone who was extremely passionate and knowledgeable. In order to get the volume of information across in the short time it was pretty intense. One of our party has neurodiversity and was overwhelmed and exhausted afterwards. In retrospect they should have done the audio tour at their own pace, which is learning for us. The rest of us really enjoyed having a live guide who was so enthusiastic and expert. We went down to the “beach” area and saw the skeletons on this tour, went in the small museum after the tour which had some unbelievably preserved items like jewellery and oil lamps, and could stay for as long as we wanted to in the ruins after the tour had finished.
