A birthday treat - Brilliant and defo recommend it. Staff were brilliant. Once you done the escape room you were allowed to a tour around the prison.

Well worth a visit - Really enjoyed visiting, there is so much information dotted around about the history of the prison as well as all the different prisoners and types of crimes. It's such a unique experience, you can wander around almost anywhere exploring the wings and cells, which makes it even more exciting and educational. Highly recommend and a fantastic day out!

Great fun in The Cell escape room. - Great fun. Just right - not too easy, not too hard. We had 2 rooms and one team managed to get out in time the other just missed out. But the staff kept on character and made the whole thing even more fun. Loved the different clues and problems that needed solving. Several types of logic/thinking required, not all the same type of puzzles. Also enjoyed having the chance to explore the rest of the prison and have some fun with our Bride to be He. On her fun filled day. Highly recommend - We all had a blast.

Amazing Day! Absolutely loved the team and the experience! Such a fun and immersive day! - We had a fabulous day and the team were amazing and made it such fun! I only hope that they develop another escape experience for people who have done the first one, as I would definitely go again!

Great few hours for family visit - We all enjoyed our time at the prison. It was really interesting seeing inside - a very sobering experience! Lots of information available if you wanted to read it all. The Cell Escape Room was great fun and very clever. We managed it with minutes to spare! Would definitely recommend.

Great experience - Really enjoyed the experience of breaking out of an actual prison cell. Being able to look around the prison afterwords was really interesting. Would highly recommend.

Interesting prison, poor escape room - Interesting prison, poor escape room! We enjoyed looking around the prison to get a glimpse of prison life at the Dana over the years. However, the Cell escape room was very poor. Our young guide/assistant wasn’t able to carry off the impression that she was our guard. The clues in the room were very poor. The guard was looking after several escape room games at once so had no idea how we were getting on solving the clues. Her clues were pretty much give aways rather than clues. Escaping the room was a total anticlimax. So much so we weren’t sure whether we had successfully completed the room. Having done quite a few escape rooms this was by far the worst. I would suggest that you pay an escape room firm to come and set up proper escape rooms so that visitors can have a more engaging and exciting experience. Five stars for self guided tour of prison and one star for the escape room.

Very low quality escape room, and a poor-value experience - The escape room felt very underwhelming, none-creative and a bit disappointing. There were very few puzzles, no variety, and there were mistakes made in the set-up of the puzzles; such as boxes being wrongfully unlocked to begin with. After we completed the final puzzle we had to buzz through to the member of staff, who hadn't been available to help us most of the times we had previously called for help, who explained we just had to walk out. Anti-climatic to say the least, and not worth revisiting.

Good and bad parts to the experience - The prison experience itself was so interesting. We really enjoyed roaming around the prison and soaking up the history of the place. Lots to see, read and hear. We all said how we had a great time and could have spent a lot longer exploring. Sadly, the escape room element was a let down. We were led into the room, no back story or any information to make it fun and interactive. Once the door was shut, we soon discovered that the end goal we needed to reach was broken, so we escaped within 2 minutes. The member of staff told us “oh well, you need a code, so call when you find it.” Clues were worn and not easy to read and it just felt a bit lifeless with no energy. It could have been a truly fun time but sadly didn’t hit the mark. Just a little kindness on the phone from staff would have been appreciated too. It’s difficult to get through on the phone lines to talk to someone. We were running late due to road closures. When I called, I spoke to a young lady who wasn’t helpful at all. I did feel I was being a burden asking questions only to be told if you’re not here, you’ll have to book for another day. Though when we did arrive, every other group had turned up late too. Anyone coming on a weekend, allow extra time to navigate the closed roads and to find parking.
