- Rawana Falls - Begin your journey by pedaling towards the splendid Ravana Ella (Ravana Falls), situated near the hamlet of Udunuwara, a journey that will span approximately thirty minutes. Next, proceed to the Ravana Cave, perched at an elevation of 1,370 meters above sea level, which is roughly a quarter-hour’s bicycle ride away. Prepare for a strenuous ascent of around 700 steps to access the cave. The cave is famed for its extensive network of tunnels, which legend says were carved by Ravana himself. It’s reputed to be one of the hideouts where Rawana concealed the beautiful Indian Princess Sita following her abduction. In recent times, a skull estimated to be 20,000 years old was unearthed within this cave. Then, it’s a brief bike ride to the Ella gap, a vast 3,000-foot chasm that offers a breathtaking panorama extending to Yala National Park. On exceptionally clear days, you can even spot the lighthouse at Hambantota in the distance - yes, that’s the sea all the way out there.

Subsequently, you’ll head towards Ravana Cave, perched 1,370 meters above sea level, that’s about a 15-minute trip. Note that around 700 steps need to be climbed to arrive at the cave.
