Although this cave appears to be a close system, both water and air are fresh which means there is an outflow as stated in the King Ravana’s folk tales.
- Ella - We organize transit from the town of Ella to the subterranean cavern location. Upon entering through the cave’s mouth, a descent of approximately one hour is required to reach the azure pond. The duration may vary depending on the group size. Despite seeming like an enclosed system, the cave maintains fresh air and water, suggesting an outflow, as mentioned in the tales of King Ravana.
Throughout the excursion, you will be joined by a native guide and another who is trained in first aid. Additionally, headlamps and protective equipment will be supplied for your safety. Before making your way back to the surface, you have the opportunity to rejuvenate by splashing your face with the water. Our tour guides will narrate the saga of King Ravana, enhancing your understanding of the enigmas that persist in Sri Lanka.
