Matey Hut Ella Sri Lanka - We will start this hiking from Ella town at 3:30 in the morning.
We will walk along a railway for 2km and will start hiking from that point on.
Sunrise will happen around 6 and it’s so beautiful before that time. Hike doesn’t take 2:30h, we will take some brakes along the way. To catch a breath, To have a sip of water, listen to the sounds coming from the nature, to capture the moment (monkey has an eye for photography) and to look up to the sky searching for shooting stars.
Once we reach to the top you can just sit and relax, try some yoga or meditation while waiting for the sunrise.
I will never rush you to leave the place. So when you have enough of it, we will come back in the same way. Will stop by at Kithalella waterfall. (not a big deal not a place to swim or shower) and then we will get back to Ella town around 9-10am.

Amazing guide and hike :) - This was an amazing tour! I was initially confused about the Ella rock hike based on reviews/google. Doing it at sunrise was very special and I highly recommend the tour guide Aka. He was knowledgeable, chatty and I learnt a lot.

Absolutely loved the tour! - The tour guide, Aka, was great. Spoke amazing English. Not only was it a guided tour, Aka gave spoke about lots of interesting things of Sri Lanka. Aka also knows great spots to see the sunset that everyone else doesn’t go to. Highly recommend!

Great experience! - Great experience! It is an hughe hike, but every step is an step closer to the beautiful vieuw.
On the road back, there was an small waterfall.

Beautiful sunset with a wonderful guide. - Aka is a wonderful guide. We accidentally booked our tour one month before we were supposed to go. Even though Aka was up for our tour in the middle of the night and we did not attend, he gave us his word to do this tour. Today, one month later we did the tour with him.
He is a friendly, kind and good guide. He knows a lot about the city, the culture, nature, stars, ... and likes to explain it.
There were many (25/30) people on Ella rock for the sunrise but he knows his spots and brought us to a very nice one. We were all alone, no wind, no sounds, only nature. He provided us with food and a drink and gave us enough time to enjoy.
Would totally recommend.

Best Hike! - This was my favourite excursion during my time in Sri Lanka. I love sunrise hikes and Aka was a super guide, offering lots of information on the surroundings. I would recommend to anyone.

10/10 experience! - Aka gave us such an amazing sunrise experience! He was promptly on time and even though we were at the wrong destination he was so friendly and welcoming! We began our walk along the train tracks (approx 2km) chatting away then hooked a left into the track. Along the way Aka was pointing out interesting things to look at and see (constellations, shooting stars, satellites). We quizzed him about so many things Sri Lankan related and he happily answered each question with no qualms. It was like going for a walk with a good friend! Aka was strategic in his rest stops and made the hike really enjoyable. We had a wonderful time and would completely recommend his services to friends and family! I wish we could have him as our tour guide for the remainder of our holiday - he is fantastic. Thanks Aka!

Amazing experience - I would highly recommend the sunrise walk with Aka! The early wake-up call was totally worth it. We learned a lot about the stars, the plants, the animals and Sri Lanka culture along the way. Instead of focusing on reaching the top (which was of course amazing!) we really took our time to enjoy the whole journey. This also made the climb very doable. You get rewarded by amazing views, and a nice breakfast!

Loved the tour - I loved the tour. Very experienced guide, excellent English and a good tempo. The organization was professional and flexible. We saw a lot on the way up and he showed us the best places for the sunrise. Breakfast was really nice 💕
