Highlights
  • Unnamed Road - Get adventurous.

Your initial hike is an approximate 30-minute journey on a river-wading and rock-scaling path to the river. This area is surrounded by bamboo trees, rainforest flowers, and many other beautiful plants. We will make a stop to visit a collecting pool that forms at the base of a small waterfall by the river. Here you will have the opportunity to swim in its crystal clear waters or jump from a rope and enjoy the different tones of its deep pools. A glimpse at the first waterfall is great for picture opportunities!

The adventure finishes in another pool area, its best-kept secret. After a few minutes of hiking and rock climbing (more advanced), arrive at a natural river where you can swim, cliff jump, and enjoy the natural water slides as many times as you would like!

After the tour ends we will stop at a local restaurant for a late lunch (food cost not included), before returning to San Juan or your initial meeting point. This stop will take from 1 to 1.5 hours.

Awesome experience - My husband and I had a blast on our excursion to El Yunque. Our tour guides, Felix, Elias, and Mitchell were the best! They made us feel safe by explaining how the tour would work, safety precautions, and how to have the most fun on our tour. We hiked through the rainforest and then climbed the rocks to do some cliff jumping, water sliding, and rope swinging. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who is physically able to climb rocks! It took a lot of effort and was slippery so you had to pay attention. Wear old sneakers and eat a good breakfast before going.

El Yunque Tour - What a great experience! My guides, Hector and George, were extremely knowledgeable about the plants and animals in the forest and explained their various uses and origins which was awesome to learn. They safely guided us to beautiful spots for cliff jumping and a volcanic rock slide. Definitely worth checking out!

Our guides made the tour amazing - For the second day of our honeymoon in PR, we could not have had a more wonderful experience with Jorge as our guide. Funny, kind and informative, he set the pace of our trip right away by calling our group “family.” While ensuring both the safe and exhilarating time for our group, it was clear that he was a leader among leaders of the tours in the El Yunque rainforest. We cannot think of how he could have done a better job. Even as we headed back to drop off points, he gave us a long talk on all the amazing things to see and experience across the islands of Puerto Rico. We would take another tour with Jorge (and Luis!) in a heartbeat.

A great way to spend the day - There were 3 of us. 2 of us were older in our late 50s and a 22 year old. 1 non swimmer. The hike itself was muddy not too strenuous but you definitely needed balance and some strength and agility as you needed to climb over rocks. We all loved the adventure from beginning to end. Our tour guide Felix greeted us with his famous " chang, chang, chang!" He immediately made us all feel like familia. We had a life guard who had skills and dive in immediately when I told him I was a non swimmer. He could easily asses my skills and encouraged me to try things within my capacity. I loved the hike, the rock side and the jump. I always felt safe. We took an early morning tour 7:30 am. As the day went on you could see the crowds increase. Every tour guide we encountered greeted us and encouraged us along the way. Truly a fun experience.

Amazing trip and amazing tour guide (Zoè) - It was sooooo fun. Our tour guide was Zoè and she was absolutely amazing. She gave us history about the rainforest, the trees, plants, and the wildlife. She made sure we were all okay because we kept slipping and falling. She help us up and down the rocks. She even took videos for all of us and sent it to our phones. She was very engaging. When I come back, I hope to have her again. She was an amazing tour guide and she made the experience worth while. Thank you Zoè :) -Jenai
